Yeah, unmanned station. I usually just get on and buy a ticket from the conductor, Vline staff are great people.
Several times I've boarded for the next station or even Wang and they've said no it OK and have a chat.

btw, if you reserve they will book you in a busy carriage. The end carriage heading south to Melb (front to Albury) is the unbooked one so there always heaps of room.
