Default XR8 vs Tree (DIALUP WARNING)

I came across this at lunch time today

The young driver walked away with no scratches and theres mixed reports from the workshop round the corner that he was getting a roadworthy to buy or sell the car for his brother.

although its not funny, its hard not to chuckle when you can see the skid marks left on the road all the way to the tree

looks like someone has let it rip coming around the corner and lost it.
looking at the marks on the road it looks like he might be up for some dangerous driving charges.

Never nice to see pic's like that..Especially when its a Blue Oval injured.

You could have been travelling in the opposite direction.... That's scary.

I am sure the driver will think twice before giving it the boot on a corner in the burb's. He may have got out unscathed, I am sure the owner gave him a few bruises. ing_sm

He would have been looking at the tree when he was sideways and where you look is where you go. Sounds simple but 90% of the time that’s why cars hit poles/trees, and thats why they seem to hit drivers doors all the time. They drill that into your head on advanced driving courses, and it works. Look for a gap and chances are you'll get there.

Thats exactly what I was told when I went to a defensive driving course. Also the case when you hear about someone crashing into a single individual tree in the middle of nowhere.

It's called "Target Fixation." Basically, you hit what you're looking at.

It happened up the road from Nambour radiator works (donaldson road i think). He was nailing it past a mates business which is around the corner and must have got sideways booting it out of the corner. I know the skids say one thing but the gutter has been chewed a fair few meters before the tree so im not sure how it actually happened. The guy looked so young and i felt alot of sympathy for him, but if he wants to fang down a road thats so narrow (the street before the corner) he pretty much shouldnt be behind the wheel. He should be happy he walked away unscratched.

Most of the idiot Platers in NSW try hiding them behind their number plate with only the smallest amount of red or green showing.

It used to be an offence to do that which for a plater meant loss of license : maybe the cops just can't be bothered anymore. Personally the less platers on the road, the safer I feel - its always loony land during school holidays when all the kids come out to play :
