Default Raptor supercharger for AU XR8

Just thought i should let the AU V8 guys on this forum know that someone has recently fitted the raptor kit to there AU XR8 series 2, following mods that the guy already had were:

Series 2 AU XR8 (200kw)
Full exhaust system
Custom CAI (removed after installing the Raptor kit)
Typhoon manifold
I think its a manual

Anyway, news is that it made 347rwhp off the generic tune from ChipTorque... Anyway else though about buying the kit? Im waiting to hear back from the guy who installed it, to see how it runs.

347rwhp = 258rwkw for those that cant be bothered trying to convert it.

This output is quite substantial. Plus that output was done unintercooled. Imagine the potential with an intercooler!!!

Yeah it is a great result, i forgot to mention that it was made on 5.7psi at 4900rpm, and he stated that at redline it still makes 320rwhp....

A nice result. I had actually pondered ripping out my stroker bottom end and replacing it with a stock bottom end and bolting on a Raptor kit. Would've worked pretty nicely with my top end but decided against it..

Would love to see the power curve..

Peaks my interest, would love to see a chart. Wonder how it would go ontop of an existing 270rwhp

for those that have already done cam etc, I reckon the raptor will enhance those mods on top of what u already have. The exhaust system size and fuel pump is the main thing. The raptor kit takes care of everything else.

he ran 180ish rwkw before the blower, so it was a ~75rwkw gain.

How long ago was this thing done? I was speaking to Matt at Chiptorque this arvo and he wasn't sure what car I was on about? Or was it just a tuner bought from chiptorque with generic tune?

How would this go on a 220? Does compression need to be lowered? If i were to setup on mine, itll be low boost on stock heads and manifold. Is a camshaft change recommended at my level?

Mate u could bolt it straight on no problem at all u don't need 2 worry about another cam. It's a straight bolt on kit with good hp output. Great bang 4 buck kit.

Hmm from that second pic the T/B looks like the factory one, could definitely use a bigger one to help it suck more air in. Might look like an alternative to putting on a PD blower onto the stroker, that way I can keep the Tickford inlet manifold

Yeah it is the standard 1 but i got another 75mm 1 2 match up with the manifold just got 2 sort out the braket 4 the throttle cable. However i have been advised as it ain't overly important since the air is being rammed down it's throat hehe

I would think if you changed throttle body another tune would have to be done, cost would out weigh gains.

As you said the air is getting rammed down its throat anyway.

any chance of a few more vids of it?
wouldnt mind seeing some accelleration clips, some 'at speed' and then flooring it clips, some idling clips and also some general street driving (normal driving - nothing illegal).

I'd pondered one of these setups for my car, but they dont provide enough room for future upgrades (for me).

Going down a different route instead..

I'm seriously looking at going down this road, decided i'm gunna be keeping my car for a while so what else would be recommended when going through this process, just thinking of the strength of my 175kw fairmont motor even though its been dyno tuned to 213fwkw now.

Hey all, yeah i've got a question. My engine has almost 150,000km on it what should i be looking at getting checked out before using a raptor supercharger? Oh and is there a new pulley attached to the motor (like a dual pulley) i cant tell from the pics where the belt from the supercharger goes to?
Thanks Pete.
