Default Tuning Question - MAF numbers & power?

Happy new year!

Does an increase in WOT, peak rpm MAF numbers mean the engine is producing more power?
For example does MAF readings of 213g/s and 4.5v at 5,500rpm mean the engine is putting out more power than readings of 196g/s and 4.5v at 5,500 rpm?
It shows the engine is swallowing more air - more air equals bigger bangs?

cheers,
Pete
