That is a very valid point actually, I doubt many people would have thought of it that way (I certainly didn't) and going by that reasoning FPV badges do have a reason to be there.

Though I think most people would then see the badges on the car and straight away think he was trying to claim FPV build status and say "what a w*nker, FPV badges on an XR8...as if you would"

I voted to keep the Tickford wings though, I reckon they look better

If you do it - you might think it looks "cool" or "nice", but in reality - everyone will be laughing at you - the same way people laugh when they see non tickfords with tickford badges.

To be honest, my car is not a Tickford. I did it for two reasons:

a) To pay tribute to a brand that is respected and no longer operates the way alot of us want.

b) I think the Tickford bagdes are uber sexy and make a good additive to my car.

if your going to change the badge to something that has nothing to do with your car, why not put some ferari badges on it, or maybe porsche, hell, why not put some F18 fighter jet badges on it??

I don't understand Tickford/FPV badges on non-Tickford or FPV cars - if your car is quick or looks hot because you have chosen aftermarket wheels/suspension parts/engine parts, then why would you want to attribute that speed/hotness to a company that had nothing to do with it?

Fair enough if you have put in a Tickford interior or engine or something, but cars with no Tickford parts...why wouldn't you want to claim credit for 'TeH hOtNeSs' of your car yourself?

And just in case you all think I'm biased because I drive an XR6, I don't actually have any Tickford wings on my car at all, only XR6 badges on front guards and rear garnish, and the 'T' that was cast into the front of the head at the factory...

I agree with Rollin's comments.

F6 Turbo, dont know what i think about that FPV badge have u got a pic from further away?

getting back to thread, WINDSR have you tried photochopping the badges on it wouldnt take much.

still reckon a de-badge and a small fpv sticker on the window is the only way to go.

No I havent tried photochopping it.

Dont get me wrong everybody, I am Tickford mad. But Tickford is really the new FPV. They have just changed the name. Am I wrong???

I do agree with XR8Chics thread. Didnt think people would think of it that way.

Stick with the tickford and keep it genuine, otherwise you will get caught up with all the stocko's getting around with FPV badges on and lose the identity that your car is entitled to. Just my opinion but I think it is a no brainer.

So in theory, a Holden Special Vehicle, could, well be..... ANY Holden that the owner thinks is "special"? it:

Yer, that VC Commodore is definitely a HSV.

Anyway, they're both more a brand name, than an acronym.. If that makes sense? Being a symbol/design and all.

Whenever I see a Ford vehicle with an incorrect badge stuck on it the respect for the driver goes out the window and personally, the Tickford wings are far more classier than the FPV badge.

IMO: the tickford badge looks better.

if you want to support or give the opinion that you have an FPV, by all means use a an FPV sticker.

how ever, if you did fit a badge, i wouldn't call you an idiot, nor would it look bad.

Neither Tickford or FPV badge if it really isn't one, sticker on window would be better..

Tickford was not only before FPV, they were before cars! They built carriages for horse & carts!! Then when cars arrived they built bodies for the likes of Rolls Royce! The rest is literally History.... So yes, keep you're wings & be proud of them.

The numbers have it, don't put the FPV badge on. Your car is a Tickford, and unless the only reason you wanted to put it on was because it *looks* good then I wouldn't do it. A Tickford is a Tickford and an FPV is an FPV. No two ways about it

The old school "super roo" stickers do it for me. $30 from rare spares.

I posted a reply to this thread, or at least I thought I did, and it never showed up! Any ideas what I'm doing wrong? Sorry to seem dense, but I'm only new to this!

As far as I know the design of the tickford "wings" owes itself to Aston Martins ensignia surely that alone gives you reason enough to leave them on
