Hi , new to the forums here , have just bought a 99 burgundy forte and love it ,
it has a radio cassette and i want to fit an mp3 player but still retain the original radio , problem is how do you remove the plastic tray underneath it? as this is where i will slot in the mp3 player |

why would you want to keep the original radio?
there are modules on the market that allow you to fit whatever headunit in place of the factory one and keep the steering wheel controls working. the first thing i did to my AU when i got it was ditched the radio in place of the factory 6 stacker. at the time though, this module hadnt been released otherwise i would have bought aftermarket. Lightning Audio produce the module along with a few other manufacturers that im sure someone else will mention. |

I have already bought the mp3 player just a cheapy off ebay , is this module a seperate thing that will fit to any stereo ?

Good question, did you want to keep the tray. If not you have several options. Pull, hard. Angle grinder, Jig saw.

You need to remove the existing radio first, and then the tray underneath just pulls out.
