Help needed, car cutting out after ECU reset!

I reset my ECU according to instructions on aufalcon.com, then took it on the 5 minute drive with varying throttle positions.

When reaching corners and/or braking the car looses revs and sometime cuts out (happened 3 times in 5 mins), steering goes dead too as result.

A few lights come on in the cluster, one being the battery and the other the teapot thing with drips of water coming of it. (when car turns off).

I gave it maybe half a dozen bootfuls aswell as some light 2,000 rpm work on my drive just then.

What on earth is going on?? Everything was 100% before the reset!

Had exactly the same thing with my car when I last reset my ECU.

It's just the computer learning when it needs to boost the revs to compensate for added strain on the engine (a/c, demister/ power steering etc) at different times.

If anything, just continue to idle the car in the various positions, as the aufalcon.com website says to immediately after you've reset the ECU - I found that helped eliminate the engine cut-outs similar to what you're experiencing.

Give it 100kms and it shall all be fine again!!!

Ahh...

So let me get this straight:

The ECU resets after 40 mins of battery being cut out and the ac on off stuff is to allow the car to learn to boost the revs?

Guess ill have to go for another drive then :evil3:

Exactly right mate.....just go for a drive, flog it for a bit, then take it easy.....the faster the ECU learns all the different rev points the better!

The eecv computer has many startup maps. Your ecu has learnt the wear and tear into you tune and resetting has erased this. The ford computer weakness is that it cannot go back to the before tune after a reset.

So is there a tune it defaults to Stav?
