Seeking some advice

Hi guys, i dont fequent these parts of the forums but my girlfriend has an 07 focus and the windscreen was leaking.
This got fixed but she was still complaining about a smell and condensation on the inside of the windows.
So i checked under the carpet and its still wet.
Im thinking i will take out the front seats and the carpet, get some new underlay and dry the carpet properly (this happened in my old panelvan and the floors susted out before i noticed :( )

So i would like to know if i might run into any complications in the process?
ie: carpet fixed down in funny places, things breaking trying to remove them.
also if its worth drying out the underlay or will it be ruined?

Any tips or advice would be much appreciated and would help save me time so my girlfriend isn't without car for too long.

I think the underlay is attached to the carpet and may take a few days to dry.
I have never taken the carpert out and not sure if other here have (maybe BlackLS) he has done quite a few mods
It could be a case of follow your nose
rear seat bases may also need to come out
most of the kick panels just pull up

watch it if you need to take out the front seats, cause they may have airbag sensors fitted to them. Certainly will if you got the optional extra side curtain airbags in the car

Yea i was gonna check if the seats were 'plugged in'. Will i need to disconnect the battery before i unplug them?

Always unplug your battery before playing with airbags Brendan

I not long ago pulled out the carpet in the laser because the sunroof leaks, best thing to do to dry it out quick is to get it in front of some source of heat.

You'll probably have to pull out seats, door sill trims, center console and maybe the side kick panels before you're able to get to all the little clips holding the carpet down.

Yea thanks man, i got my mate whos a mechanic gonna lend a hand (supervise :p)
Should be all sweet.
Pretty sure it was confined to the front passenger side so i might get away with one seat and pulling half of it back and drying it with some heat lamps or something.
