Default stone chip repair

Hi there,

So I got my shiny black Focus a couple of months ago (2nd hand, not even 2 years old, near perfect condition) and today I gave it a wash for the second time.

That's when I notice hundreds of stone chips on the bonnet, front hubs and bumper bar. Even in the windscreen, which was replaced just before I got the car. Some had bits of white fluff hanging from them, like fibreglass.

I'm sure they weren't there when I got the car and I'm quite p*ssed off about it. I have no idea when it happened. I'm not the tailgating type, so I feel reasonably innocent in that respect.

I got some "Scratch X", which kinda worked a bit, gave it a wax, but still... Those chips stand out like dogsballs.

I want to get it fixed. Do I need a respray? Any idea how much that would cost me? Any ideas much appreciated.

Well when we got our cats "fixed" it was about $110.00 per cat.

Sorry could not help myself with the creative editing. :

Stone chips are unavoidable, unfortunately. My suggestion is that every 2 yrs, go to a panel and paint shop and get it cleaned up.

It'll cost you - cost me $400 for a straightforward strip and respray for just the bonnet in January. There were no spots to fill otherwise it would have cost more
