Default tips: buyin el (...for a friend)

gday all

converted yet another to buy himself a ford, he really likes the look of the EL's.

Its just a GLi, ive asked wheather its had any damage to it, engine history and other bits of crap, im goin to go check it out thrusday, but up close, what am i looking for

The car is prity good thow, it has roady and long reg, 175ks, from what the dudes told me, its prity well kept

Anywayz, what am i looking for when i go see it, advise much appreciated

The things I worry about are head gaskets and gearboxes. If you see any stains down the side of the block, factor a head gasket into the price.

oil leaks such as rocker cover ,timing cover, tensioner

els have that cover over all the belts dont they, how u take them off to check behind it, or can just pull back prity easy?

One nut on the right hand side, then slide off PS pump on the left
