Default batteries

Well the battery has gone flat and i think its high time to buy a new one. Is there a ceratin type of battery i should try and get for my EA that is better than the others or just go off what the book says in the store? I know i have to get a heat shielded one cause my engine gets quite toasty.....

Optima batteries are hellishly expensive but they last much longer, cope better with being discharged and are more suitable for cars with stereos etc. Or if the budget doesn't stretch, I've been using a 550 CCA Exide for years now and it's still going strong.

and just a tip for people,,never ever let the battery go flat,,once it does that with in a few months you'll need a new one,,if for some reason the battery needs to be removed for an extended period of time get a charger and keep it charged,,

buy a small marine battery, higher capacity and better built than car batteries.. a small marine will fit in a falcon perfect ;)

if your with RACV roadside they can come to your house and you can buy one of their batteries. They are very good and go for about $120. Probebly the smart choice if your on a budget. Otherwise go nuts with a Optima battery.
