Default Focus with Kuga suspension

Ok, here we go.

I would love to lift the focus a tad. I have an LW mkII. I was thinking that considering the focus and kuga share the same platform that there may be a possibility of utilising some Kuga parts to raise the focus.

Anyone know if its possible?

Would be great to have the focus with Kuga suspension, ST engine and AWD, lol.

Sorry I can't help.

I didn't even realise they were the same platform, but in this day and age it shouldn't be a surprise. There is lots they can still do to the top mounts that could make this difficult.

So a little research into these, and I just cant find any info.

Options I do have are coilovers, an setting them on maximum height (will get about an inch higher) and some larger profile tyres (Im thinking I may be able to squeeze an extra .5-1 inch there too).

cheapest option will be tyres.
Be careful with coilovers as most are lower than stock ride height even at the highest setting.

The kuga suspension was used previously in an AWD conversion on a focus RS. So it can be done but will cost you a lot more than you bargain for.

I just want to be able to travell on some dirt roads a little more comfortably. It certainly handles a lot better than the Falcon off road and would love to be a little more confident with some better suspension/clearance.

Other than slightly larger tyres there isn't really a good option for increasing the ground clearance. You will need to buy a different car more suited to your needs, like a Kuga

strut spacers would be an easy option for the front, might be able to do something similar to the rear

Would work in the front but would put your camber angle very far out and it is not adjustable on the Focus.
Wouldn't work for the rear as the spring sits inside a "cup" so wouldn't be safe. Observed a dodgy past employer do this on the rear of a cosworth to get it through a RWC as the car was under minimum clearance height - He removed the spacers straight after the RWC as it really wasn't safe.
Not 100% sure but id imagine that spacers would be an non legal mod in all states.
