Default What is your opinion on engine change

My 1991 11 EA currently has a 3.9 CFI 4 speed auto thats in pretty good nick (156,000ks), The car itself is pretty nice, inside and out.
however the power is whats letting me down. I am seriously thinking of replacing the engine with a 4.0 out of an Ef. (The guy reckons the auto will fit??) I realise that I will have to change the loom and stuff (ECU ect). I have been quoted $1400-1500 to get it done.
While it's getting done, I'm putting on extractors as well. I really don't want to change cars. Do you guys think that this is a worthwhile option?? Also will I notice a power increase? If this is the wrong section, let me know. Input is appreciated!

Kind regards

Falcon91.

I would look into converting to MPI. It is cheaper than getting a new engine, and as yours has only done 156,000, a) your engine is just worn, and b) there is still a way to go before anything should go wrong, however the EA headgasket can blow at any time. The E Series guys should be able to tell you more.
