Default Help with Indicators

hey all..

This problem has only just sort of come about over the last 2 weeks, was hoping it would go away but from what I can tell slowly getting worse..

Ok when flicking the indicators on, they 'blink' for about 2 or 3 times and then just like freeze and stay on.. they stop 'blinking'
sometimes it will do it straight away, and sometimes it wont..
I kinda thought it would be stereo related when ive got my system on it seemed more frequent, so I turned my system off and drove around and the problem still happens.

Any ideas?

Bit of a guess but all the AU's and EF/EL's have the same flasher relay from memory anyway, at least find an AU borrow the flasher relay and try that. BA's have a different relay. I'd be trying that first mate.

Good luck,

Tim

flasher relay OR the hazard toggle switch on the column fascia.. I've seen more AU indicator problems caused by the hazard button than the flasher can <--not to say they don't fail, they are after all only a relay.. Next time it does it give the harzard button a wiggle

Actually, last night it happened and I got the dirts about it and gave the top of the steering column a whack and they started blinking properly again, but only again for another 3-4 times and stayed on..

where abouts is the flasher relay on the AU.. engine bay fuse box or under the dash fuse box? i'll have a fiddle with it tomorrow..

I noticed that when I was following you from WSID to KK's stiddy, just blinked a few times then stayed on.

Relay is R5 - a black coloured one.
