Good morning everyone
Well my AUII has this wacko fuel guage. It starts off reading full, then it will drop to empty while driving (with fuel light on). Then it will gradually creep up to 1/4. Sometimes if you stop the engine and restart it comes good. This has only started happening since we last filled the tank a few days ago. I'm sure it's been mentioned on the forum before. Your input and thoughts appreciated regards Blake |

yep common problem with them. happens when full settles down as it empties.
There is a Ford TSB about it a known problem with the sulpher content in our fuel stuffing up the fuel level sensor. Search it you will find the answer and i think russel even posted up the TSB. |

Ours did exactly that all the time when we first got it about a year ago, but hasn't done it for ages...
Reading that bulletin, it sounds like it's a warranty item, but since the car's out of warranty, guessing it won't be covered. |

i have a feeling that was covered under a recall, im sure i remember reading about it somewhere, it might be worth looking into anyway, if you can get it done for free why not?

My au SR wagon does this every full tank(every week).since ive had it (over a year now) .,
I thought it was just my car doing this.....Is this a recall or only for warranty job,as Ive been reading up on how to pull the tank out and pump/ level sender.It looks like a delicate job.let me know if anyone has done it.Is it just a matter of setting the level arm at a different angle,as I cant really read the recall notice.? Its a bit blurry |

Had the issue on my LPG ute ... I replaced the senders and was all good.
