Default Speed Limiter on an ED?

Does anyone know anything about speed limiters on ED's? I didnt think they had them and i did a search of the forums and couldnt find anything bout it. But mine has one for sure, as i found out the other day. Private rd so no worries!

AFAIK the speed limiters came in on the EB11 and they are 180kmh or something like that . I may be wrong though.

Pardon?

Pretty sure that non-Tickford's (or XR's in the EBI's) are limited but the GT's aren't limited. I have a few Wheels/Motor magazine's that have the ED Sprint radar gun tested at 220+ (up to 231).

I believe they are limited due to the aluminium tailshaft.

Well these are for the Sprint, though Im sure they'd be applicable to the EB GT as well.

Wheels - September 1993. 231kmh@~4750rpm (Radar Tested) Raining.
Wheels - Feburary 1994. 237kmh (Radar Tested) KB 'Less than Impressed' Felt Soft.

Sure I have a Motor magazine around here somewhere with high 230's figure.

*Edit:No applicable as to outright speed, but applicable insofar as there is no limiter.

Lumpy :

they are most definetly limited to 230 due to the tail shaft, it may be a gt but it runs the same drivelin as the others, that being the alloy tailshaft which at those speed would be like a jump rope. id like to see that artical that says 237kmh

Go to the outback where there are no speed limits and test it out then tell us all what happens!
Watch out for kangaroos and bunyips!

i don't think my ED has a limiter.. i've had it to 200 on private property before, the car feels a bit light so you wouldn't wanna go any faster

as kyro said nice way to admit to it on an open forum. i guess we'll just assume you had a pitstop on "private property" like the rest :

now just one question: aren't the tailshafts only rated to 180kph???

my ED has one.

I don't go above 150km/hr though (private roads) because of the 3.45LSD and EA T5 box. Car revs it's tits off at high speeds.
