Default Hyundai Roll-On/Roll-Off Pure Car Carrier

Reading this months Wheels and amongst all the VE vs BF comparos thought some of you might find this interesting:

Hyundai Ro/Ro Pure Car Carrier
Overall length - 200m
Width - 32.2m
Air draft (height above water) - 46.9m
Deadweight - 20400t
Number of car decks - 12
Car deck area - 54000 sq m
Capacity - 6100 standard car units
Engine - 4453L two-stroke diesel (driving a single 6m propeller)
Cylinders - 7
Bore/stroke - 600mm/2250mm
Power - 14300kW@114rpm
Engine weight - 320t
Speed - 20.5 knots

One of these was carrying an XY GT originally exported to Africa and brought back original with minimal rust. And this Pure Car Carrier wasn't the biggest.

only 20,000 tons thats only a moderate sized one.

My family were stevedores and some of the car ships they use to bring out cars from Europe are extraordinary.

Can't post up pics yet because:

- only have 3G connection and there's problems with it at the mo
- meaning it would take hours to get anywhere if I used my PC
- no scanner
- phone browser can't upload pics

This is the best I could do before the network shat itself - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/RORO

That pic makes the cruise liner look like a yacht!

I'm on a PC now. I found this - http://www.walleniuslines.com/the_fleet.jsp?art_id=77

Nothing I've found matches the pics in Wheels though.
