Default Mmm Shiney...I've been busy :D

Yep! I've been busy sprucing my car with a few things recently and thought I'd update you guys on what's been done so far. It sure is fun to do the occassional splurge! oooh baby! :

I got myself:
2 x new headlights ,most of the EL intake, new coolant resevoir tank, and 12 shims for the cam coming soon.
All genuine Ford parts and all for cheap as. Special thanks to The Goodz. Cheers Alex! Your a champ! :

new parts

The coolant tank was a straight forward swap and took no time at all. The ribber hoses were a ***** though, as if they were fused on.
before

after
Atleast I can SEE the coolant level now! :P

And the best part, but the hardest to do, were the nice new headlights. having to take the bumper off to get them out was a bluddy nightmare and was way harder and took way longer than I expected. They sure don't make it easy. Nice one Ford! Anyway, My old headlight were shockers, and after doing a cut n polish several times and having them dirty up again, I went with new ones! What a huuuuge difference. Makes the car look much more respectible. Just need Ultra White globes now :yeees:
before

after

As for the intake, im still hunting around for quotes on stainless 3" pipe 300mm length. But im getting the 3" pipe either chrome plated or copper orange plated. Then when the cash comes up to level again, the 1636 wade cam will go in.
By the end of the year, hopefully, the car will be touched up and EL vents will be in the resprayed bonnet. (im looking into carbon fibre bonnets also)

I reckon the best part is doing all this stuff yourself. I learnt stacks doing this. Much more satisfying than getting someone else to do it!

Cheers guys:
Matt

what's wrong with the EF intake ?

The headlights look mint mate! Should get a pic of the enginebay with the coolant filled up.

Nice work Matt. New headlights always improve the look. You should think about some protectors to keep them that way.

Thanks guys It's been a long time coming.

Now for those prices...
Coolant tank i got for $63, Headlights $210 and $218

Definately go genuine headlights, from what I've heard aftermarkets arent worth the cash. Wayne (madnc8) will thoroughly back that up ;)

...now back to watching Bathurst :hihi:

I'm very interested in your lights actually, nice job!

How discounted did you get them for? Reason being, in the next year or so, I think 2 new lights for the EL will be in order, and we were quoted $300 a pop and I nearly shat myself. :P

You'll find the outlet part of the intake from the airbox is tapered inwards and it's a smaller pipe. Best bet is to use your EF airbox, and EL upper from TB, with another piece of induction tubing.

I've got 4 meters of the stuff.

I'd have to cut it myself, but i guess it wouldn't be that hard.

Umm, how much would 300mm os 3" stainless tubing usually go for?
