To be honest, I am pretty satisfied with the exhaust note mine has.
I don't want it to be too loud and boomy anyway (for that I have my harley!). The car is a bit more of a sleeper as people don't expect you to be able to dismantle them at the lights if they decide to have a bit of a go.. As happened this morning with a modified commodore next to me.. heh The ST is a real head turner, so far I have received a thumbs up from a guy in a camry and another guy this morning nearly unswivelled his head as he drove past on the other side of the road.. in fact he looked out his side window after he was well past me for a last longing glance.. This car really is dynamite. :-) |

I have barely noticed the exhaust note, but for a daily, and a non V8, I am happy this way. Loud exhaust notes and 4 bangers don't really mix.

We have sold our first 3 arrivals, 2 white and one TScream, should see some more Tscream and a silver soon. I have a feeling when these get out in the public we will sell a lot more. Looking forward to it! If anyone wants a drive of this great little hatch in the sunshine coast region let me know

Passed an orange jobby on the road today. Not bad at all. Doesn't seem quite as bright an orange as the LS/LV version, but still stood out like the dog's proverbials.

Acceleration on these cars is very deceiving, you put the foot down, sleight kick in torque, very smooth linear power and then you realize how fast you are going! Torque steer is there under hard acceleration but the car seems to want to correct itself with almost nil driver effort. The on dash gear indicator telling you when to change up etc seems to like the driver to keep car under 2000 rpm, but maybe set to fuel saving mode. The shift and clutch are tight, the brakes very responsive, but still my favourite thing about the ST is its wanting to be thrown hard into corners and does what you want it to do and so well, chassis is firm as and handling is great.
Interior, the seats rock! The layout of all the controls, ease of use and the fact the voice control actually works is good. Love the small details such as start up ST logo on dash, when you play with controls on dash, this is confirmed on display screen also. So many features and plenty to play with. Finish is very good. The only criticism I have is the interior of the centre console, a tad on the rough side. Otherwise very good. Is my 17th Ford, first non Falcon product I have bought and must say I am enjoying it more as a daily than any of them. I think as a total package is a better car than a Falcon.

2013 Ford Focus ST vs. 2012 Volkswagen GTI
http://www.autoblog.com/2012/11/20/2...arison-review/ Stick around for the whole article, its a good comparo. The pair of blokes doing the test are also clearly huge fans of the GTI... which makes the conclusion even sweeter.

Mouth is watering, today I had confirmed dock for the 24th, must be about Melbourne right now, really hoping late next week pickup, really hoping it doesnt upset the Homebush 500 plans. Loving the reviews and comments, thanks all.

That's impressive discipline. I'd be out running it in, and the wax could wait until at least the weekend.

Any special tricks to painting calipers? Assuming paint capable of withstanding heat is needed. Can this be brush applied?

No its straight forward. I bought a brush on kit from repco (Dupli-colour). Spray cans give a better result but there's far more messing around and the difference is minimal.
Just take off the wheels and brush it on. |

The Estate looks nice but I'm extremely happy with the TS ST which I picked up from the dealers yesterday! There is alot of reading on all the nic nacs which I am not use to. Lots of leg workout to come once the paint protection and window tinting is done on Tuesday. So far I'm very impressed with the car.

There are rumours floating around that the next batch manufactured for Aust. will be thai built.
The consensus at the moment is that it's just a dealership talking **** to sell units now.

I agree, pretty sure I read something a while back when the Thai factory story was being discussed that the ST would always be sourced for Australia via the German plant. Can't find that now but it appeared like an iron clad claim at the time.
