also wasnt there pro's for using them, quicker firmer shifts generate less heat in the box ? or is that just BS ? or counter acted by the shock to the drive line?

I am thinking of getting one for my AUII XR8, its nearly at 180'000 km's, regularly serviced though, but if its too old, i wont worry about it. But me rikey the sound of chirpys into 2nd !! (inner bogan emmerges)

Thats true, less surging=less heat. I myself have never heard of gearbox damage from it but BenJ on here did break an engine mount as a direct result of using it hard. Chirpies into 2nd are very easy, my 300,000km old eb fairy did 2nd very well and 3rd very slightly chirped in the dry. Mix in a wet road and its pretty dangerous. As has been said, use it with caution and sparingly and you shouldnt have any problems.
Edit: the eb didnt do it with the wide new radials I had on the back but when I went back to cheapo standard tyres is when it started doing chirpies.

mate your car is fine to use it. and yeh me gots it caus me likes cherpies too

im running 225's not cheepo's still cherpies mate.

and yeh i reckon if my belt didn't slip every now and then i would of done a mount aswell.

a few questions... is more for LSD or Live axle cars? besides the obvious of the LSD kicking out?

is there n e other real reason for having one besides cherpies?

can a non modified car handle one or is best suited for cars with a few mods?

i dont know much if n e thing about them
