Good job Ben, I agree it is hard not to go past the E for a fun, modable car.

E series parts prices (new/second hand) are good. Good cars!

Take me, for example...
It was some years ago since I left the camp, selling my old DC LTD. I loved that car (and Braden, I'm sure you remember that car and I'd like to think it was an influence on you) and I cried the day it left my company off with someone else driving. I vowed to one day get another LTD of similar vintage, and finish off what I wanted to do with one. Sure, the B-Series are great... but they're poorly finished and customising them usually means fitting an FPV kit- gets boring seeing the same thing over and over. And I miss the beautiful noise of an EFI Windsor under noise... Heaven to the ears.
Now that the BA's up for sale, I'd like nothing more to get back into the car that started my customising experience. It's going to happen, and this time around I'm holding onto this one!
See you all in E-Series country soon!

Cheers
Ben

mate thats really good to hear. i really hope u get a sweet car at a sweet price. looking forward to seeing you in this part of the forum more often. you really are a e series enthusist, well done.

I have an EA series 2 said to be one of the worst eseries created. And i honestly cant see that, even with its oil leaks, stuffed auto box and creeks and rattels. it's a car that takes almost everything you throw at it. its the easy of modifying it that drawed me in, After having several other cars ( sigma station wagon, xf, vh, vn and a vp. ps. im only 19 now) i got behind the wheel on my ea by misfortune and i gotnt let it go.. saying that im now gona be selling her/upgrading to an EF/EL XR6!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yep, nothing wrong with the good old EA. Nobody ever take my EA seriously but when my EA 3.9L manual is actually quicker than an ED XR6 auto (both with similar mods), that raises a few eyebrows! Also the amount of myths about the EA are ridiculous. Everyone seem to think that you can't drive an EA anywhere without blowing a headgasket. Mine's done 1, at 220,000kms. Some of my uncles have had more problems with their ELs than I've had with my EA.

the ea is a great car, i love em. My dad had an ea2 ghia 5 speed and it was a fantastic car. Went through to 310,000km with no head gaskets done, and nothing of note replaced, except for one clutch!

I would have to say their timeless design, they are getting on in age, and put them next to anything thats rolled off a factory floor today, and they don't seem that dated, take the EL XR's, they have to be one of the most modern front ends with their sculpted quad lights....I also have a soft spot for the EA-ED's, having owend an EA fairmont that was stolen, and a marine blue EB that my mum pranged...
