The definitive answer to the question asked is in the table below - the literal answer is smciner1 as the most recent visitor with the oldest user ID but it would be rod if we are counting currently active (defined as visited in the last 60 days).

Of the first 25 registrations:

2 have been banned (shown in red) - 8%
18 are active (shown in orange for this year / green for this month) - 72%
4 are inactive (16%)

Cheers

Thanks all for the nice little history lessons.

Any chance of AFF doing another tour & lunch type thing that you said you did in the early days? Sounds like a great day.

Who are members with "lucky" Ford numbers, like 302 & 351?

I am 79 from memory. In the beginning there was no AFF url just an IP address.

AFF stemmed from a revolt against the owner off FF.septic when he went bezerk mistreating those who had actually built his forum up. The Australian mods and most members just moved here.

It all but died not long after that.....

Well there you go, I made the list. I for the life of me can't remember who it was that PM'ed me on the old forums to say this forum was up & running.
To that person, THANKYOU!
Edit: Oh yeah, I'm a little light on in the post count stakes!

I joined 1/1/05, and I am user # 529 - must've been a heap join in Decemer 2004 (obviously 528 before me).

So I guess I should aim to have something else equalling 529; RWHP (in my dreams), number of sets of wheels....something!

The original RAID (as it was called) was held over 5 days in September 2002 with 60 members (including our US guests) involved.

It consisted of:

Day 1
Geelong engine plant tour
Discovery Centre tour
Proving ground tour
Day 2
V8 Supercar workshop tours BBQ at Herrod Motorsport
Dinner with LS1 members
Day 3
Broadmeadows plant tour
Faces of Ford & Tickford tour
Go Kart Challenge (including Glen Seton)
Day 4
GOR cruise to Lorne (overnight)
Day 5
Lorne to Calder Park cruise
Ford vs Holden Drag meet

A second one was planned but cancelled due to insufficient numbers and a 3rd was held in 2003 or 4 (from memory).

We could certainly look at organising another (perhaps shorter) one if there is sufficient interest.

Cheers
Russ

I would be up for something like that if it was held over 2 days!

Yep this was the one, it was a great few days and was a really good way of getting to put faces to names.

What also made it great was it had the backing of FOMOCO Australia. This is is the kind of advertising/marketing ford just can't buy. It has kept me buying fords for the past 10 years!

I was on the old forum for a few years and couldn’t figure out why none of the regulars were there any more. No one online told me about the new forums.

I think it was Rob Herrod who told me when I was in his workshop one day.

Oh well.

Wow. That sounds amazing, and like a hell of a lot of fun.

if another one does get organised, I would definitely be really keen to get in on the action and attend, bou would probably need (at minimum) 6 months notice to be able to book the leave off work.

Scary thing is im sure I had my post count reduced at some point....

+1 to spending too much time here..although last year of uni so depending on the job who knows..hehe

I still dont know/bother to use half the functions on the website either, which is a bit slack, good ol new posts button is my friend.

We actually sent bulk email to the entire member list at the old forum from our hotmail accounts, 50 at a time to avoid the spamming filters. Some of the email addresses were out of date (we got about 1500 bounce messages) which is possibly why you didn't get yours.

Cheers

I know I went back over there a couple of times and directed a few people looking for help or info on aussie Fords over here.
