Those B&E rolls really hit the spot that morning, breakfast of champions.
Looks like the next BBQ will be pretty popular and not just with B Series if you're makin those Sanga's.

Name of Cafe/Restaurant: Beach House Bar and Grill CBD, Cnr Elisabeth and Albert Streets Brisbane City
Price: $13.90
Date Consumed: 26/07/2008
Comments: Very basic. Bread was thick, not toasted enough to my liking, steak was minute stuff, cooked beautifully (medium), gotta love char grill though, ohhh... my god. Too much greenery (lettuce and cucumber??? WTF??), tomato and onions were nice and came with a good BBQ sauce. Served with a fair whack of chips.
Star Rating (out of 5, 5 the highest, 1 the lowest): 2.5, I was far more impressed with my fiance's Maroochy Works burger, it sat at least 8" high

Ban coming then. I got a weird enough look when I took a pic of my sanga.

Best way to describe it is that I almost lost it on the floor carting it from the servery to the table. The meat pattie had to have been around 3cm thick.

Comments:It was different. It had your usual salad stuff and a nice piece of steak in it. Onion Jam(thats what the menu called it. The bread roll it came on was smotherd in garlic butter. Served with some really nice chips. Overall it was very nice. But it wasn't a steak sanga it was a steak roll and it was def a little on the poofy side.
Star Rating (out of 5, 5 highest 1 lowest):not good enough to make a 5 to good for a 3.5..... 4.1 from me.

Name of Cafe/Restaraunt:The Ripe Tomato - Borella Road Homebase Centre Albury
Price:$10 I think? Not sure
Date Consumed:9 August 2008
Comments:I'd been wanting a steak sandwich since breakfast so I decided it would be worth a shot at this cafe. Walked in and it was listed on the menu as a "steak sanga", which gave the indication that these people were intimate enough with the recipe to identify it in a slang manner. I asked for it to be served with chips and gravy, as Im beginning work on another long held food mystery - how they get shop gravy to taste so good.

When it arrived it looked great - all very fresh and it was presented really well BUT then the waitress ruined it with 5 words - "I didnt put sauce on it". Well this just put me in a bad frame of mind and from there it was doomed to fail. The onion WASNT cooked and the steak was small - big no-no. These people obviously do not know who I was. It had the potential to be great, but in the end it was the food equivalent to a David Koch - all talk and no actual substance. It also didnt help that midway through the second half of the sandwich, two girls with more makeup than David Koch walked into the cafe - instantly my appetite was on its way to the other side of the country.

Star Rating (out of 5, 5 highest 1 lowest):3 - was ok but the lack of a sauce option and no knife and fork made the gravy hard to work with. I may eat like a pig but I dont like to be treated like one!

Yeah, I'll second 99GHIA's review, it tasted good, but was a bit too girly to be a proper steak sambo.
