Oh btw our family car is a Nissan patrol so my opinion is unbiased. For a real 4WD, nothing can beat a land cruiser which is followed by patrol then pajero imo. |

And an F350 is rated to tow 7ton (but Aussie laws prohibit it)

its coz our diesel is shite, thats why we don't have the range of efficient diesels in australia as our sulphur content is way too high.

Diesel in Australia has two grades. summer and winter. winter has a greater wax content which prevents the lines and fuel injection pumps from freezing.
The U.S. has 12 grades, one for each month of the year and the quality is far superior. Diesel is the way it's all headed, common rail is producing more torque and greater economy that the equivalent sized petrol engine. And if we all remember back, unleaded is carcinogenic, same as diesel, where we could just have the honour of trusty old lead back in the day. so until they can justify growing Billions of tonnes of crops for ethanol fuel, it remains that 1/3 of the world lives in poverty and on the brink of starving, Bust out the main sail skipper. |

The truth about diesel is this :
It does a 400 + klm round trip to Heathcote raceway. Does around 14 quarter mile passes in a 2000kg ute with some burnouts thrown in, wins the DYO all in and makes it home with half a tank of fuel left. : 18.3 second passes don't set the world on fire, but diesel made for a fun (cheap) day out.
