The boss didn't like the idea of us doing it on one of our ambulances unfortunately.

I wonder how many children I will kill lying down flat on my face (besides me)? OH THE HUMANITY! SOMEONE LOCK ME UP BEFORE I KILL MYSELF!

I do it every night when I sleep.

I'm not so sure that these people have the prerequisites for thinking...not even with a potential $293 fine if they're caught doing anything illegal...

Is this thread still going....

Who cares, some people get it, others don't. Its an internet fad and will fade. I just feel sorry for the ambo's, police and the families of those who improve the gene pool by failing at it.

Edit:

Taken from another forum.....

of course it's not fun or funny when someone dies doing it but the guy who fell made the decision to plank in a stupid/dangerous place and he paid the ultimate price.

it's just people doing dumb things so others can have a laugh at their expense, what's wrong with people having a bit of a joke?
don't take life so seriously or you'll end up being that cranky, bitter, lonely old man that yelled at you when you were a kid for laughing too loudly in a playground.

Planking is old!

Many of the locals up near Broome used to plank in the middle of the road or front lawn all the time, they'd do it all night though, makes it difficult to drive home with all these speed humps in the way.

Lawn mower soon wakes them up though!

Pffffffffft..Not joking, simple fact is the majority of the population think we're idiots for spending big $$$ on cars.

People are having a laugh planking, some will do stupid things just like people do stupid things in cars.

btw people who drink beer/alcohol everyday are idiots to me to but its there choice, just like its a persons choice to plank.

I wanna see someone planking the white dividing lines on a free flowing freeway .........then I'll be impressed.......LOL

Although it sounds harmless.....you can easily see this kinda thing spiralling out of control with people trying to outplank each other with more and more precarious planking. I must admit though......I've seen some damned funny pictures.

Planking?

WTF?

Never heard of it until the news story, and all I have to say is people are motivated to do some strange things, for reasons I'll never understand.

Some people are eager to be lying face up... 6 foot under... and it's not only the young

A car surfing stunt has left a young man with serious head injuries after he slammed into a road in northern NSW.

The 21-year-old was standing on the boot of a moving car as it travelled down Henderson Lane, Inverell, about 8.45pm (AEST) on Monday, police say.

He suffered serious head injuries when he fell from the vehicle driven by a 19-year-old man

Last Friday night, we went out after work for my going away party, and in the bathroom was a guy lying face down across the bathroom vanities / sinks, with another guy taking a photo. I didn't think anything of it until I heard about the guy who died at Kangaroo Point. So now I know what planking is....

I'm with you on the age/ Google bit. I too had to look it up.

The only form of 'Planking' I'd ever heard of was by IRA supporters in Northern Ireland to scare the crap out of British soldiers.

(A 6' plank being slapped down hard on a flat surface sounds remarkably like a gunshot)
