The one thing I am missing the most is Jim Beam White and Cola. Lucky I live about 3-4km from work.

I've given up lapping the foreshore with all the ricers in the feint hope that someone might see me with my arm hanging out the window and think I am cool, which currently makes my otherwise valueless life somewhat fulfilling.

Ok, so that was tongue in cheek, it hasn't really affected me much driving my four cylinder rice burner, I just spend more nights in with the girlfriend... but I suppose that's not fuel related.

i don't smoke or drink boose, to cut down on my fuel bill i might have to give up my job (del pizzas), or worst still, become a manager again (working 50-60hrs week) that way the only driving i will do is to and from work

Fuel going up is good! Anyone in ctx shares will be making stacks of money! I know I made heaps... pity it was only a share market gamed.. doh.

I think soon people will have to start cutting holes in the floor of their cars and pushing them with their feet like the flinstones.

$69.00 x 52 = $3,588/year

$2,574 difference at 50L per week... the more you drive, the wider the gap becomes. At current prices, cost me 85 bucks to fill up my car, if it was on gas, 23 bucks. Huge difference, and running an economical 2.0 4cyl is hurting me alot (very very low income). I'll be converting to gas as soon as I can.
Don't forget that with an EFI car you will use 30% more gas than petrol (LPG is higher octane but lower calorific value and BBQ ring is not too efficient)

So the actual figure would be closer to ....

$0.39 x 65L = $23.35/week
$1.38 x 50L = $69.00/week

Not a huge diference but a difference none the less.

I put in a 2nd hand gas system in dads old XD about 9 years ago, I fitted everything but the lines from the filler to the tank, and from the tank to the vapouriser. The rest was done and certified by the local gas place, saved a few bob but not a hell of a lot.

It's still in the family and has almost 500,000ks and hasn't blown up yet... :

So the next conversion, on the wifes EA was done with new parts by the gas place. The local (near Canberra) gas place said he wanted $1800 dollars for the job and I showed him an add in the Melbourne trading post for $1200 he said he could not get the parts for that price. So he rang them and got the kit sent from Melb and then installed and certified it in NSW for about $1300. Apparently they have a huge market for LPG conversions in Melb so the conversions are much cheaper ....at least they were back in 1996.

And just to irritate you further my F6 is my work car so the boss's fuel card pays to fill it with Vortex 98. So I go will give up nothing... :evil3:

Well... the other day I went to fill up with Optimax and they were just changing the unleaded price from 123.9 to 139.9. I wound down the window and asked the guy if they'd changed it at the pumps yet? Nup, quick, fill up! he said

All the employees at the servo were getting in their cars to fill up, and the blokes at the mechanics next door were lining up at the bowsers to take advantage of the old prices. IS THIS TELLING US SOMETHING? IS IT GOING TO GET WORSE?

What am I going to give up? Well I filled up the EA last night... LPG cost me $30 for nearly 400ks. The rolla does that on $55. So I'm going to have to give up the rolla (although I'm working on the hubby to let me keep her lol).
