Been there done that and did'nt like it.
Admittedly it was only a bit more than a fringe experience it was not me.Well put it this way I was close to the inner sanctum of a party and was on the preselection committee.
I was far better off being a union sec/rep so thats what I stuck with.

However this thread is about the new rules and how they will affect the workers.
I have not had a chance to read the proponents ads yet but will do so in the next 24,mind you I don't expect any detail just rhetoric.

Well I've read the ad and it would appear that they will maintain the workers current award/awa/eba conditions. However there is still no detail, the proponents have had 9yrs to work this out,how come 9yrs i hear you ask..because this has been a certain politicans intent for even longer.

Now if that is not enough time to work out the detail then how do they expect to get a completed and fair set of rules in place by September.

I am sus about the fair minimum wage tribunal they want set up,they say they will not lower the minimum, but I'll bet that this body will have the power to if its masters so decree.

I am open minded about this ,although I don't trust them ,but will wait and see and digest anything they put out.

So what happens to lsl, super etc?

I have worked twice at the Electrolux plant in Orange and after 6 months you have to be made permanent.

At times a few hundred people are all put on at once and when they all get to between 5 and 6 months they are all sacked and rehired 2 weeks to a month later.

It has happened to me twice.

Now I work for the NSW Govt. So much easier.
