While the basic Ford Six was code named Barra, the Turbo version clearly deserved its very own moniker – again enter Gordon Barfield.
We asked him if the engine had actually been called “Seagull” and how that came about.
“Actually it was just call “Gull”, because I named it that. Because we knew it was going to poo on everything”.

shots taken on my smart phone and didnt capture the swell the ship was sitting in let alone watching it roll n right as they lifted and adjusted to re level
usually its done with the dock cranes not the ships
if it came down in a hurry the wharf platform would have gone under with us and i dont like my chances getting out and away from my prime mover in any hurry under them circumstances

Some may recall my previous posts on this subject, but for those who missed it, I am a member of a volunteer group who winds our local clock. The clock is a replica of the original post office, located within the local mall.

Original Sale Post Office (with clock tower):

Current replica clock tower:

The mechanism is manually wound, using two weights to create the energy to run. One weight is for the running mechanism whilst the other is for the striking mechanism. A full wind run time is 8 days, 13 hours and 43 minutes.

My mate, who is a photographer, joined me a while back to get some pics for a show he was conducting. These are the two that don't have me in them.

The mechanism, apparently, is exactly the same design as that which runs Big Ben in London, just a smaller scale.
