Default Airbag light flashing repeatedly

Hi All,

Just purchased another AU as a work hack, and have noticed the airbag light flashing occasionally.

It does 1 flash, then pauses and does another 8 or so flashes after that.

Anyone know what this is and how to fix it?

Thanks,

Justin.

sort it out taxi style and just put some black electrical tape on the cluster glass over where the light is

NOT

was the car sold to you with a safety certificate/rwc and this fault present?

The thought did cross my mind, but I'd probably go a little more upmarket and pull the globe

I had a similar problem recently but I'd get 4 flashes then 7. From doing research in the threads already posted in the forum the codes do change between the different series'. I believe 1 then 8 (18) is a Series 1 that has a fault with the drivers side pre-tensioner, either it's been activated or the plug is a bit loose. Mine was the passenger side that has already been activated and needed to replace it.

Thanks mate, I'll search a bit harder then!

It's a S2, and I might have got the number of flashes wrong. Will count it again properly next time I drive it.
