Default Stolen EA !

Hi Everybody,

PLEASE help, My EA Ghia was stolen this morning (Wed 27-04-05) between 3am and 8am from the driveway in Darlington (Adelaide)

Features/ID - Maroon EA Fairmont Ghia VRS 895
(missing badge on boot) small ding on left hand rear boot edge, extra black rubber strip on front air dam. Factory mags. window "socks" on rear doors.

EL engine with EA cooling and belts. King springs and Sensa-trac dampers/struts, dual fuel, new power-steer pump, baby car seat in rear.
My wife's mobility (white) canes are in the glovebox.

PLEASE, I'm on a Carer pension with a totally blind wife and three small children, the car is vital to us and not insured for theft, we spent nearly all our savings to ensure we had a reliable car that was cheap to run and now it's gone!

Please anyone with any info call the police, leave a message or phone
0419 817 592

Even our children are crying !

Sadly....

Prof. Rabbit

Hey prof thats so sad, everyone who used to frequent the other forum should recall who you are and all the effort you put in to get that EA sorted, I really do hope you find it.

Thankyou,

Hope is all we have, even getting the car back in a drivable condition is probably wishful thinking, our street sees little traffic so it's unlikely the car was stolen just for "joy riding".

Thankyou for the thoughts..

Regards
Prof. Rabbit

Default what are the chances?

Thanks for keeping an eye out..

Anyone know what the average chances are of getting the car back and/or in a driveable condition?

Thanks
Prof Rabbit

sorry to hear about the car. there are a few of us that remember your situation.
as for chances it depends on the kind of person that stole it.
theres the ones that will simply take it so they can get somewhere and then abandon it, and there are the ones that will take it to have some fun and then kill it. if they dont burn it, it will be trashed beyond repair.
lets just hope someone needed a ride someone and that was all.
dont give up hope.

Default She's Back!

Charlotte is back!

The police found our car this morning at Westfield Marion !!

No damage, missing stereo etc. ( even took the baby seat? )

Otherwise seems ok.

I'm buying a few lottery tickets tommorow !!

I'd get it checked out just to make sure. But other than that, that's good news.

I do not know how I would react having my car stolen especially in the unfortunate position you are in.

Good to hear you got it back.

Good to hear prabbit. I would get the car thoroughly looked at by a mechanic for any signs of excessive wear and tear. But at least your family has transport. I too know what it is like to live with family with disabilities.
I recommend getting a immobiliser fitted. Just a cheap one from any auto electrician will work. Just get them to place the switch in a place only YOU would think of, and remember to use at the end of the day. I had one fitted to my old EA about 10 years ago for about $70. It was pretty much a kill switch to the fuel. It's worth at least doing that in my opinion.

All the best.
