Hrm... interesting! I wouldn't do it myself, especially having the drinks above the electric window switches, but it's your mod & your car. Well done mate.

However they have an enclosed bund to catch any condensation/drippage from the bottom.

not a fan, but your choice. id rather use the gap in between the passenger seat and the centre console.

(how shiney is your console lid :P)

Default Here's Mine

http://i103.photobucket.com/albums/m...08-06_1613.jpg

Just thought i'd show what I did, still has the same problems with being in the way of the windows switches and shifter if its a tall bottle, however because the bast of the drink sits in the little tray it holds the drips instead of my windows switch copping it.

Its more stable than I thought it would be, never had anything go a** up and i've hit the brakes and corners pretty hard with drinks in it

Got it off a beer helmet (with the straws & can holders) so did have 2, but my car rarely has a passenger with a beverage except for my mrs (if her hands were free she'd only screw with my stereo anyway) or Jared (onereded) with beer (never puts it down so doesn't need a holder)

haha i did that back in the day of the old EA, i dont think i have pics anymore(some one here might), but it fit alright after a little cutting to get it to line up right under the radio

only problem i had with it was that it had a 4 speed trans surround and my ea had 3 speed so the trans so it was off a little

They were, i kicked them under the seat before i took the photo

It's been vaccumed since then, there were screws on the floor that i needed but was too lazy to pick up for a while so couldn't vaccum...then i discovered the awsome uselfullness of a strong magnet, did the work for me :P

I did consider putting an EF console but didn't want to spend the $$$ (tight i know) and have seen one in an EA, looked too strange for me!

yes they do, all u have to do is the mount points aparently, the power window switches would have a say in it perhaps? maybe they plug straight in to the AU ones?

yeh AU ones are on the door. i have considered putting an AU centre console in, i wouldnt have to worry about power windows as i dont have power windows! lol! iv just never got around to it and im not sure about the mounting points. it'd be great for someone to actually do it before i go stuffing around with it! lol! one day maybe! or maybe one day my parents will be out and will leave the AU Fairmont at home.....hehe....i'd only be borrowing the centre console for a little bit!! lol!

LMAO The only drinks that are safe are normal size cans. Anything else requires one hand on top to prevent spillage.

Someone should have a crack at putting in some Euro/Subaru style retractable holders, not sure where they would fit on an E-series tho. They're the best, can hold anything from a red bull can all the way up to a litre of cola.
