Default Which headers brand is the best?

Hi.

i just got my ED manual lowered, and now ive decided to get a full exhaust system. i originally wanted Jim mock system, but living in W.A proves that to be difficult, so now ive decided to just get a more common brand.

whats the best combination for an exhaust? (like which brands are known to perform well)

I want something that sounds good, and will give me power gains

any help would be great.
cheers

Ive had Pacemaker 4480's with a no brand 2.5" exhaust in my EB Series II Manual and it performed very well!!

Ive now got the Pacemaker 4480's with a 2.5" Redback exhaust system in my Fairmont EL 6cyl and it sounds very good! better than my last. Power gain is good as well but with any extractor your always going to notice it from not having them.

The pacemaker 4480's are not as loud down in the low revs though, like when in idle it won't be as loud as the 4499's but around the 2,000 rev mark it gets very very loud! and you'll feel most power gain when you hit 2,000 and beyond. In my EL if i put the foot down around 2,000 the car will just get up and go!

I suggest getting 4480's with a 2.5" Catback exhaust (Redback) with 1 muffler and no resonator. It's a good combination, gives good power and sounds very nice!!

Welcome mate.
I have a similar setup to sambo7, pacemaker 4480's and 2.5" Lukey exhaust a with hotdog instead of the rear muffler and i love it. Nice and quiet when just cruising but when you give it to her its pretty loud, and power beyond about 2000-2500 revs increases quick a bit IMO.
Apparently the pacie 4480 aren't as good as the 4499 for sound but perform better but i have never had or heard 4499's so i cannot compare.
As with everything though different people will have different opnions so it's best just to see what a few people say and see what is best suited to you.
Good luck

i have heard of a lukey exhuast with 1 straight through muffler no resy and HM headers to be the best performance system. and i will be switching to that when i get some money.

i cant say anything about its sound though. but im not interested in the sound.

if u want sound .. get pacemaker.

dont look at genie or wildcat
