Default DSC option for E-GAS

Ford is delighted to announce that Dynamic Stability Control (DSC) will be available on E-Gas engines from May 2009 production.
Now it's even safer with Dynamic Stability control being introduced as standard on FG Falcon Sedan, XR6 Falcon Ute and BF Falcon Wagon MkIII vehicles fitted with E-Gas engine^.

A unique DSC calibration has been developed for E-Gas vehicles, combining brake intervention, throttle control and spark retard, to improve active safety levels and provide peace of mind motoring for E-Gas customers.

Dynamic Stability Control (DSC) will incorporate:
- Traction Control
- Emergency Brake Assist (EBA)
- 4-channel Anti-lock Braking System (ABS)
- Electronic Brakeforce Distribution (EBD)

During quarter three production, Ford is proud to announce the availability of E-Gas with DSC option on the FG Falcon XR6 Sedan. This outstanding addition will further enhance the FG Falcon XR by offering sports design styling as well as lower fuel costs**.

The XR6 E-Gas sedan will complement the G6 and G6E E-Gas models by offering the important benefits of large car space, technology and comfort with lower fuel costs than a Toyota Corolla#.

With the introduction of DSC on E-Gas-powered models, the entire FG Falcon sedan range will be equipped with the latest in chassis control systems, ensuring every model in the range comes with a five-star safety rating from ANCAP^.

The E-Gas option with DSC will have a recommended retail price of $2,000 for FG Falcon Sedan and BF MIII Wagon and $3,000 for FG Falcon Ute##.

^ Dynamic Stability Control available on E-Gas engine from May 2009.
** E-Gas engine not available with 18” wheels or Luxury Pack options.
# Calculated using ADR 81/02 fuel consumption figures of 14.9 L/100km (G6 with optional E-Gas – 93litre tank capacity), and 7.4 L/100km (Toyota Corolla, Petrol, Hatch 1.8 L, 4 cyl, manual – 55litre tank capacity) Source: www.greevehiclesguide.gov.au as at March 2009. Estimated fuel costs are
calculated using the average fuel price for the five major Australian capital cities of 50.75c/L (LPG) and 109.88c/L (unleaded petrol) from December 1 to February 28, 2009. Source:motormouth.com.au. The estimated costs for travelling 20,000km are $1,512.35 for G6 with optional E-Gas, $ 1,626.22 for Toyota Corolla. Fuel cost savings are true for the example given and
changes in unleaded petrol and LPG prices will alter the cost saving calculations. Figures refer to fuelsavings alone and don’t take into account $2,000 premium for E-Gas at purchase over petrol model. ## FG Falcon Ute includes the cost of mandatory automatic transmission.

I wonder how they managed to finally use a spark retard on the E Gas engine, because previously this resulted in a backfire.
