As regards the missing autolocking on the doors. My duaghter's Ki Rio has it on her vehicle. That feature certainly helps give me some peace of mind especially when she also the baby on board.
Ford made a bit of a big thing about the LZ being a "quality" level vehicle and yet it deletes features that much cheaper cars have??
Admittedly, if I specifically wanted that feature then I should have got a different brand of car but it is annoying to see it shown as a feature in the Owners Manual only to find out that it didn't make it to Australia.

I didn't realise how hard it was for some people to lock their own doors...

Interesting thread....

Hey guys, looking at selling off my VY SS for something smaller and fuel efficient. Looking at the LZ focus.
Iv heard a few people in the US have issues with a rattle in the engine bay getting worse over time. Apparently it's the wastegate or there abouts?

Anyone in OZ experiencing this at all?

Just keep in mind that self-locking doors "should" unlock automatically in an accident situation allowing passengers to escape or allow rescuers to access those inside the vehicle.
If you lock the vehicle from the inside then you have to hope that in an accident, one of the occupants is capable of unlocking the doors.

I don't think that is the issue. It's missing feature that is being discussed.

This would apply to doors locked manually as well, I guess. I'm sure there is an ADR for this, but I would hope that rule would state the doors must unlock after a collision. Has anyone noticed power windows still work for a while after the engine is switched off? I've always wondered if this is some safety requirement. All the cars I had with power windows operated that way.

Thanks for the feedback Victor and Norm. Ive had no complaints with the car so far.

It is the darkest legal tint available. Had the tint done through Ford. Could just be the camera I was using.

I plan to get my mate who's a mechanic to help with painting the calipers as I'm not very confident doing it myself. Also ordered some overlays for the Ford emblem on the front and back of car to change from the standard blue.

I'm glad I stumbled on this forum as I havnt found anything else like this one with a LZ thread.

Yes, I have this on mine. It's probably only for the first 1-2 minutes while the car is cold, and then it goes away.

I plan on mentioning it to Ford when I hear there is actually a proper solution to fixing it. It's definately something related to the Turbo.

I wouldn't worry about it... it doesn't affect the performance of the car at all, and there are other cars from other manufacturers (BMW 335i's and VW Golfs) that have had similar issues with waste gate rattle.

I was lucky!! No regrets although I had to fit the turning circle stoppers which means it has a terrible turning circle like the ST and Titanium

I was just thinking about the stoppers.
Just like a sexy women in high heels, they might be hard to walk in but they look good.

LZ Titanium doesn't have the terrible turning circle like the LW Titanium does. So no need for turning circle stoppers on the LZ Titanium. It was a pleasant surprise when I changed over from the LW to the LZ Titanium recently.

Someone should investigate to see if you can enable the auto locking in ForScan ;)

There would be a way

Yes it was a tough call.. Candy red or Silver... I think it stands out because its not an ST colour!

All in all very happy with it except for the lack of auto lock feature.

Looking at yours, the Candy Red SHOULD be an option for the ST!

My understanding is that LZ Titanium has 18 inch wheels and does have the 'stoppers'. The Ford website accessories page shows 18 inch wheels for sale and states steering rack limiter is required.

My LZ Titanium has 18 inch wheels and does not have the stoppers. My previous LW Titanium with 18 inch wheels did have the stoppers (and so it had a terrible turning circle). I think that the redesigned front suspension and/or other changes to the front of the car (for example I note that the glove box in the LZ is smaller than the one in the LW) has allowed a better turning circle in the LZ Titanium.

Read what Smoke Pursuit had to do to his LZ when fitting 18 inch wheels. Read this also: http://whrl.pl/ReHw1R

The 18 inch wheels are wider than either 16 or 17 inch and that's why they recommend the steering rack limiters. I'm only going on what I read on the Ford website.

We were using a small amount of meguiars quick interior cleaner on a microfibre towel, as it is safe to use on screens going by what it states on the label, but due to the missus being at the same o.c.d level as myself we invested in i pad protection covers cut down to size for both the focus and falcon touch screens, which heavily reduces the finger print marks
