Default congrats Cumberland Ford you've done it again....

well... heres the story why i have ill will against Cumberland Ford

when we got the car a few months back, we went down to pick up a car we picked off the lot.. a used X-Police E-GAS falcon... they said they would have it detailed and we could collect it in 1 hour...
we come back 1 hour later and their detailer / wash boy had HOSED THE MOTOR.... (never hose an e-gas motor!!) and blown some packs sending the car into limp mode :(

now.. today i have discovered

when we purchased the car..we specked it with 17'' alloys and a 17'' spare
we asked them to put another jack with it as when we inspected the car the jack was missing...
and a tyre iron that would work with the alloys.

today.. coming back from a meeting driving along the freeway... i ran oveer a peice of guttering that come off a truck..
truck driver was real nice and decidedto come back and help.. it split my tyre good and open.. the truck driver gave me 200$ and left.
im wearing a 500$ raven suit at the moment... go to the boot .. grab the jack ...
AND IT DONT WORK WITH MY 17'' RIMS!!!!!!

tg for a nice older guy in a XR-8 stopped and i used his tyre iron and i was off..

any idea where i can get a tyre iron / jack to suit my rims?

What do you mean by Tyre Iron?
My definition- Tyre irons usually come in pairs and are used to pry the edge of a tyre away from the wheel it has been mounted on.

If you're after a 4 way wheel spanner, you can get them from Repco, Super Cheap etc etc.
I was given one when I purchased my ute, as it has alloys.

Cheers

Bugger man, hope your day improves, first thing i do when i buy a car is check the spare/jack. My current car came without a jack, so i just got one down at the wreckers. As for the tyre iron, you are probably better off getting a 4way wheel brace and just put it under the tyre in the boot, they allow for more torque to be applied.

Best of luck with ELN Ford, anyway i hope they fix your job, they seem to have anice setup there and are not as busy as the folks a Klosters and Grawhill Ford. E-gas shouldnt not be backfiring (im yet to ever have a backfire on my AU) and especially not on BP Autogas, as the general consensus is that BP have good gas.

are you sure the ticking isnt a loose power steering pump belt??? iv'e had this in both my cars over the years.

have you tried taking the car to another tyre place for balance and alignment.

I know ideally the dealership should be dealing with these probs, but at the end of the day, they have dollars at their disposal to tie things up and slow processes down if they dont want to do something for you.

If you knew how the cops had treated your car you wouldn't have bought it.

Thats strange to hear about the washing of the e-gas motor. I used to be a detalier in the Pre-delivery dept for a Ford dealership, and we always washed them. Never got told not too. Why is that anyway?

Anyway, I'd never buy a ex-cop car. I've seen some shockers but there are some that are brilliant. In saying that though, I've seen too many bad one's to buy one

well and update...

the car went into ELN FORD AT TUGGERA TODAY

AND THEY DIDNT BLOODY FIX IT!!!!!!

THEY CHARGED ME $165 TO "REMOVE LEAVES" FROM THE AC SYSTEM.

1. the gas system backfiring - they said oh u probally havent had it serviced and we are going to charge you 35$ to inspect it... and they found nothing...AND ITS STILL BACKFIRING!

i was addiment that the system was FINE as each time the bloody car was serviced it was checked.. it was serviced at the same place 100's of taxi operators get their work done...

2. the airconditioner - they said there was leaves in the system and no the bearings of the blower that i suspected...

the noise is still there... all they did to cleen the system was use and air compressor to blow all the stuff out... as was evident from the face full of debre i copped when i turned on the system and the covering of debre covering EVERYTHING in my car that was perfectally cleen when it was taken in!!!!

3. the power steering

they found air in the system and bled it...

THIS DIDNT BLOODY WORK BECAUSE NEXT TIME I STARTED THE CAR COMING OUT OF A COLES CARPARK THE SERIOUS PS SHUDDER WAS BACK.
they stupid *** design of a powersteering pump in PLASTIC is useless and only lasts a few 1000 km's.... i think im jut going to take this to where i preciousally worked and get them to bloody overhaul it!

thats my rant tonight... and its what THEY ARE GOING TO COP ON THEIR DOORSTEP AT 8:15 TOMMOROW!!!

You need to take it to an lpg specialist. Maybe the FORD dealers you go to don't know lpg engines.
I know 3 FORD dealers in Brisbane and all thier egas cars are sent out to lpg specialists. They don't do any work them. Even dedicated FORD EGAS cars.

Depending on who you talk to, factory gas is not adjustable

http://www.fordforums.com.au/showthread.php?t=69461

The back firing could be caused by a spark plug or faulty coil or coil insulator or even a vacuum leak.

Its covered by the factory warranty right? Why would they ask you to pay for an inspection on a factory fitted presumably malfunctioning LPG system? Seems very rich to me for them to even consider doing this. Good luck mate.

If you have the new car warranty then take it to another ford dealer like peter warren or somewhere.

The power steering shudder should be fixed with a replacement hose, it is pretty common, BA work wagon does it
