Hey guys, i have recently obtained personalised plates
however stupid me selected USA Rear plates instead of standard. i tried to ring and cancel but they had already been made, and i cant be stuffed paying to get them changed again. moral of the story is, the USA rear isnt as wide as the standard plate, so therefore its screw holes are in a different position (about an inch closer together) today im using self tappers and tape to place the plates on. but how do i fill the old holes smoothly and neatly? wihtout resorting to bog and a respray? cheers Mick |

If you really don't want to use a bit of bog then touch up paint you could possibly try getting a regular size plate cover and just fill the gaps either side extremely carefully with something metal so as to keep your plate in the one spot.
That sounds kind of painful compared to quickly using bog and touch up paint though eh  :I made sure to order full size (standard) for both my front and rear new plates..Paying over 2 grand, I want as much plate as possible... I can not wait to have them (they are on layby as I type)

ACL (The same people that do gaskets) do a Stainless steel number plate backing plate (Goes behind your standard plate) You could use on of these to attach your plate to and mount the backing plate in the usual manner.
Or else you could make you own. |

Thats a great idea fiery, but the palte wont fit ina standard cover as its a USA size and is "taller" then normal. here is what i mean for everyone, notice the holes either side?
i will probalby jut locate some gromets and paitn them green and slot them in  the front for shits n giggles

You could of got some flat sheet metal, paint it the same colour as the car & then attech the plate to it then fit it to the car.

Mental note... When I move back to Qld, never buy custom plates... Man that's expensive... Dearest plate here in Vic is the Euro plate. $595.
