Please don’t laugh at me but does anyone have Mach E sales for last month?

So its sh.t to drive, noisy when you need to rev it out and painfully slow everywhere, downright dangerous in some situations. The engine in that vehicle lets the whole show down, I'm otherwise very happy with the thing.

Apparently the above is what customers want.
Currently, the base model XLs come with a single turbo 125 Kw version of the 2.0 diesel.
It has a 6-speed auto which is affordable, well proven technology and sufficient for fleets.

Here’s the thing,
Ever since Australians jumped to diesels to get better fuel economy, the oil companies
have permanently jacked up diesel prices at the pump to the point where you have to wonder
whether the added up front cost, higher maintenance costs and emissions issues are worth it
when perhaps a lower cost Ecoboost 2.3 petrol engine may be a better fit….

As a retail buyer in another segment, I normally purchase a basic petrol engine over a turbo diesel.
Sure, it doesn’t have a lot of poke but they are normally super reliable and cheap to service.
Every time I go to Costco and fuel up for $1.90, I look at diesel nearly 30 or 40 cents dearer
and see the savings each time I fill up. I can imagine people with petrol tradie Utes think the same…

And guys, I get that the V6 diesel is a runaway success in Ranger and Everest
but that success seems to have thrown a lot of shade on the 2.0 diesel so
perhaps offering a 2.3 EB or even the 2.7 EB V6 are possible alternatives for
Ford to consider but they would want to be darned sure that’s what customers want
and not just a few on the internet advocating something nice to see.

Wasn't it 1. I remember commenting on the lonely sale.

EDIT.....Scratch that, month before that.

Last month 56 E and 3 gas.

LOL, thanks for trying Rockwiz.

What happened to Prado, I don’t see it on the sales chart.
I’m just curious because Everest was supposed to be going after it….

Never mind, I see new model dropping next month…

Somewhat curious to try out the 2L diesel, as the 2.2L in the PX is a downright turd with how it drives.

If they sorted it's horrid driving characteristics it would be tolerable - hate driving our work PX.

yes, you would have to try it and feel the difference for yourself.

The old 2.2 diesel was around 118 kw/385nm
The 2.0 single turbo diesel is 125 kw/405nm
The 2.0 biturbo diesel is 157 kw/500nm but only available in XLT and up.

It's not the power and torque figures of the PX that's the problem, it's how it drives.

It's nothing until 1800 RPM

Then nothing over 1800 RPM

The way I manage it is get on the brakes and stall it up if I need it to react to throttle inputs, like turning right across Sydney Rd.

It's absolutely shitful to drive, the calibration on it is woeful, maybe it's an emissions thing to get it to pass testing because it's ridiculous.

We're either at or exceeding GVM in it, so it's heavily loaded up with a service body + equipment.

If it's anything like the 2017 Transit Custom 96kW/385Nm 2.0L diesel they have a hair trigger throttle...too sensitive imho (our one is an auto)
Transit Custom model upgrade later changed to the 125kW tune.

That's exactly what Ford Europe's cars drive like - that's what I like, it reads your mind the moment you touch the pedal, that's why I hate Hyundai's throttle mapping, give me that hair trigger throttle mapping any day.

2.7 is unbustable. Kind of fun to fang around commercial areas to the mine site. Sometimes a car is best in it's most simple form.

FWIW I would set aside a $1 for every $1 I put in the diesel HJ60, for all up everything costs which were higher than my petrol work cars. And that particular diesel has a rep of being very robust and simple compared to the modern ones.

Hybrid petrols of things like Hilux and Prado will be very interesting, if they can keep the full 4x4 ability.

If only for here. Maybe VW will instead
Amorak R perhaps

Their trucks don't (Scania being the exception) maybe Volvo? .....try a MAN ( I've figured out what MAN stands for ....many alterations needed

Our 640hp (drives like a 540) comes to a complete stop empty going around a roundabout with a B train behind it ...........................................w hile you wait for the throttle to return

How do you put up with it? Do the brake lights come on or you risk Arty Aotearoa in his 1988 jap import crashing into, the back of it?

It's just the resistance of dragging two tri sets of duals around a roundabout as you throttle off into it .....I guess they don't design them to go around silly little roundabouts in Europe?

Nah, I thought you were after a 1 tonner BF/FG for next to nothing.
I've got a shitty BA XLS one tonner that was a ford owned vehicle, bought from geelong with a tray. Problem is that the previous owner put a tub on it!
Also the previous manufacturer did a shit paint job on it! (shockwave). Because of all it's issues it only has 145k kms on it.

If they aren't worth anything then I'm not spending 4k on a good tray or 2k on a cab only DIY paint job I guess.

Did they end up adding a sixth gear and intermittent wipers?

Still 5sp manual, it's pretty lame using a 5sp box in this day and age.

Is it the only unleaded "ute" on the market (Raptor excepted of course)? Because if it is, I would take it over all its competition, bar-of-soap handling and all.

Well then, why doesn't Ford offer it? Do they think we're addicted to low loooow redlines, fuel that's extortionately expensive and powerbands thinner than J.Lo's waist?
