Default Average fuel consumption

Hey guys just wondering how many km's everyone is gettng out of a tank. I was getting around 320-350 until I changed my spark plugs and leads so now I'm getting around 450-500. City driving that all is no freeway. Just wanting to know how that compares to others

Thanks man. It's due for a service now actually. Every 5000kms I do it.

Yeh alot of people have mention gas but to be honest it doesn't interest me. I know it will be alot cheaper but yeh not a fan unless it was built for gas the engine

That's great range for a 6. I can get just about 400 kms around town if I drive gently. I I am considering doing the plugs soon. What brand did you go with?

:O:O how did he manage to get 1006k's to a tank! If there is a way of doing it let me know I wouldn't mind getting that out of a tank lol. And your xr8 is getting 500k's to a tank? Hmmm I think it's time I bit the bullet and bought an xr8 since they don't seem to be that bad on fuel.

I better add this: I'm getting 500k's to a tank AROUND TOWN in my XR8. That is driving with economy (and mainly licence) in mind, 420k's having some fun. Upwards of 700k's highway.

Wow so the au's really aren't that bad on fuel. Maybe when I service my car it will get more k's out of a tank.

Guys you have convinced me to get an xr8. I always thought being a v8 they would be shocking on fuel but obviously not. Thanks alot now I have to go find another au on carsales. Oh well not like I have better things to do lol

Driving style, and the fact that my XR8 and my brothers XR6 ute are both Manuals assist in good economy.

Yeh if I was to get an xr8 it would have to be a manual. Wouldn't want a v8 with auto.

My ute gets around 500 per tank (80L) and easy 700 highway. On Gas (60l) it's 300 ish
My best was 1100Km's with city, highway and some very spirited driving. both tanks had the light on, could have gotten another 50k's i reckon.
I really want to do a solid highway cruise and use up both tanks

XR8 - Town = 300 - 350 per tank - Hwy = 500 - 900 per tank (the higher end is driving from orange nsw to mildura vic, cruise control on for hours lol)

Mrs Au6 - Town = 350km (and rich) - Hwy = 500 odd

Much prefer the xr on trips for fuel economy

i get 500-900 kays out of my forte. 80% highway with a few hills and the rest is town, which isnt too bad. it's average is about 650 kays from a tank. dunno what the l/100km is. depending on how spirited my driving is it can differ hugely.
