Default One for The P-Platers

It would be interesting to know what Fords P-platers gravitate towards. In the Holden camp I would daresay 40% (VR-VS), 20% (VN-VP), 10% (VL), 10% (VT-VX), 10%(Kingswood??).

I see a lot of Ford p-platers in E-Series and XG/XH Utes but I'm seeing a growing number of AU's and suprisingly B series.

I've had XE Falcon, KF Laser and AU Falcon.

Mates have XH, EA and EL.

EF/EL Fairmont and Fairmont Ghia's seem to be the weapon of choice of Platers followed probably by povo pack EB's Gl's and Fairmonts

from my observation:

25% VT onwards (maybe parents car)
40% VP-VN (a good first car)
15% prior to & incl VL (car enthusiasts)
20% other (barina, camira, statesman, torana, kingswood. too hard to disect)

I see P-platers in VN-Ps a lot, as well as VR-S.

In Ford, EA-D the most, followed by EF and EL.

My first car was an XH Ute. Drove it for a while during my P plate stint.

Cheers

My first car was a Datsun Sunny.

1.2L of raw power..... might explain why I respect cars and am still here 14 years later.

I have an XY GT replica and XB GS fairmont :P. If I wasn't lucky enough to have these i would have looked at probably a 5sp EL or AU sedan or ute. Most P-plate falcons i'd say XF through EL.

hehe.. poll results look a little fake me thinks.

I had a 302 powered XA coupe on my Ps (10 years ago) but some of my mates cars included 253 VB commy, a little 1980ish Datsun coupe thingy, a 6cyl XY sedan and of course the venerable Sigma.

Now days I think most P platers are in EF/ELs plus a few EA/EB/EDs as well. Generally a P platers car is at least as old as they are lol.

I have an EF, but I'm seeing alot of BA Falcons getting around with stockies on the back, lol. P platers have found out they have some balls, so they're catching on, imo.

Mostly loans for the nice ones. And it gets them in biiiig trouble in a few years. Happened to a couple of my mates already.

There's a price for looking 'fully sick'.

Then again you can pick up an XT falc for 10k, i've spent more than that on my '68 XT 'goon, half of that on my XF, and the same again on an XC ute.. I'm 19 and I suck at saving money =/

Got a quick loan to get my XT (6.5k, it was in the middle of a right off and insurance was taking ages to pay out) a couple months ago, have paid over half back and once I get rid of my last XF stuff it should be clear.

had an ED when i first got my p's.

stacked it in 05 and got an AU

was the only p-plater driving an AU that i knew of or seen til about a year later. then they started popping up everywhere as AUs went into sort of the p-plate price bracket.

Young people can't afford to buy a house.

My parents in the 90's had the choice of house or second hand car.

God I wish I cold buy a 20 grand house.

I would drive a EA if it meant I could buy a house.
