Default Brock Tribute Car - From HSV

Brock Tribute Car - From HSV

Holden Special Vehicles honours Brock with fan tribute car
October 2, 2006

V8 Supercar fans attending the Supercheap Auto Bathurst 1000 will have an opportunity to pay a lasting tribute to the life of nine-time Bathurst 1000 winner and Australian motorsport legend Peter Brock.

Holden Special Vehicles (HSV) is giving fans the chance to sign a specially prepared VZ ‘Brock Tribute Car’ in the Holden Heaven merchandise area at Bathurst for the four days of the event.

HSV’s John Crennan said the company would offer the car to a museum as a lasting memorial to the affinity the Australian public had with Brock.

“We hope the Commodore will attract thousands of fans’ signatures and tributes over the Bathurst 1000 weekend and then be put on permanent display, as a symbol of the great respect Peter is held in around the country,” he said.

Members of the Holden Racing Team and Toll HSV Dealer Team will be among the first to sign the Brock Tribute Car when it is unveiled at Bathurst at 1.30 pm Wednesday.

HSV donating the car not Holden.

Does anyone else find this extremely ironic ?

Who cares who is donating the car?

It's a tribute that the fans can be involved in and a nice gesture to the King of the Moutain.

I think this is really positive.

Well done to the Holden Racing Team.

Hope everyone is sensible and writes their message to the great man when they are not intoxicated too heavily.

Great Idea, it's going to feel strange watching the event with all the tributes this year, but not as weird as it felt going to Targawest!

my mum and her boyfriend and their good friend rode their motorbikes down to phillip island for the moto gp .. and stopped in at bathurst and signed the wall up the top somewhere(cant remember the part of the track but its right near the top with a great view)

there is big nikkos there for everybody to use and sign the wall with.

Top Idea.
At least it won't get painted over, like most of the walls will on the mountain.

Yeah I was in pitlane for the unveiling of the car. And after the all the "important" ones signed their wishes, the 50 or so onlookers were invited to do likewise.
So I scored a prime posi on the bonnet....

And it was a great gesture from the Red team, to do what they did. Good on 'em :
