Angry Howard cons motorists on fuel prices. (GOOD READ)

Howard cons motorists on fuel prices.

PETROLEUM PRICES
By now everyone has heard that we are about to reach “peak oil” the point when the global oil supply diminishes. This now appears to be another lie just like the ‘weapons of mass destruction’ (WMD) lie used to justify the invasion of Iraq, ‘peak oil’ is a program designed to justify higher oil prices.
Most involved in the energy industry have been aware of this, & the fact that oil is a ‘RENEWABLE & ABIOTIC FUEL?’
Oil has been called a ‘fossil fuel;’ based on the idea that it comes from formerly living organisms. This may have been plausible back when oil wells were drilled into the fossil layers of the earth’s crust; but today, great quantities of oil are found in deeper wells that are found below the level of any fossils, or decomposed living matter, if it exists in rock formations far below layers of fossils, & shows no fossil trace it means its back to the drawing boards.
Any reputable geologist will tell you that OIL IS CREATED BY MAGMA OF THE EARTH. Oil wells that were pumped out dry at the turn of the century & capped are now filled with oil again.

Oil Companies & governments created the concept that it was of limited supply & therefore extremely valuable. This fits with the “Depletion” allowance philosophical scam.
Most can remember stories about the middle east oil wells running dry by the 80s, it did not happen to day there wells are just as full as they continue to replace the billions of barrels being pumped out.
At home in Australia we were told that our country had little oil & it would soon run out, & to ensure further exploration & ensure supplies we would need to increase prices to OPEC parity pricing & we are all aware at what this has done to our pump prices for fuel & the drastic effects its having on our communities & economies.

The truth is there is no shortage of petroleum in Australia, in fact the country is awash with it especially gas. Australian oil is what is known as a light sweet crude, in other words its low in deadly sulphur & is ideal for diesel, petrol, avgas etc., we are 97% sufficient in petroleum products with only the need to import about 3% of heavy crude oils for bunker fuels, bitumen etc.
Our oil fields such as Barrow, Bass Straight & Moonie are still producing oil for $2 to $3 dollars a barrel, in fact all our oil fields are producing for well under $10 per barrel (six cents per litre). Gas is produced for $120 per tonne about (three cents per litre), this is exported to countries such as communist China on a twenty-five year contract for less than three cents per litre CIF.

Based on these facts it is estimated that the uniform prices of fuel in this country should not exceed the following;

Petrol................$ 50 cents per litre
Diesel................$ 40 cents per litre
LPG...................$ 20 cents per litre
(The above prices provide all in the chain huge profits)

Ref: “The Deep Hot Biosphere” by Dr. Gold. “The genesis of Hydrocarbons & the origin of petroleum” by Dr. Kenney “ Power from the Earth Deep Earth Gas”—Energy for the Future” by Thomas Gold.

The fuel price grab is purely to satisfy the greed of the CFR & the Howard government, who are never effected, as they do not pay for the fuel used in their taxpayer provided cars.
However the Australian workingman, farmers, retires & others on fixed incomes are suffering as fuel prices impact on us due to the tyranny of distance in Australia.
The time has come for the Howard government to put the interests of the nation first or resign.

Cruisen EB That is your best post yet... A very interesting read. I don't know if I would believe every word from your reference, but it is food for thought and may open a can off worms (I hope it does). I do believe the oil companies do need a good shacking, and I never believe anything they say about oil crisis....

There was a heavy discussion on this on Catalyst on ABC lat night at 8.00pm. There were 2 very distinct thoughts on this, those who thought the oil would reach it's peak in the next 4-5 years and those who reckon it is 30+ years away. All the protaginists had very good arguments for their point of view. You really don't who to believe.

The only thing that is important is that we MUST find an alternative to oil.

The reason simply is that our diesel is generally made from local oil, but the oil producers have to option to sell our diesel on the open market which they do, hence the driving up and the every fluctuating prices of our diesel prices. It is all about PROFIT!

here is a link detailing where diesel comes out of the process, most people think that diesel comes out first and this is not the case;

I also heard that diesel goes through more refining that petrol these days to get rid of/lower sulphur emmisions

There are some misstatements in the first post -for instance we import about 30% of our oil.

Yeah that howard's a real b@startd isn't he. Especially how he's got all of the oil rich middle eastern countries to keep their prices for oil as they are. Amazing how he can do that, and I would have thought that the royal family in Saudi Arabia, the Venezualans and basically all members of OPEC had something to do with the oil price but thankfully; you have shown me the light.... It was Howard all along.

Right. Firstly and most obviously, crude oil comes out of the ground, not petroleum. You are correct about light sweet crude, however as it is not as dense as middle eastern crude, there are only a few cuts from this oil making it too inefficient and thus expensive to refine into petroleum based products in Australia. As a result, in Australia we import over 70% of our crude oil from the middle east, and blend it with our local oil as it enables several cuts from petroleums and distillates to your parafins. This is what is refined here and not light sweet crude alone.

Light sweet crude ends up in places like malaysia who have refineries large enough to sustain profitability from only one or two cuts of an oil. Additionally, we import refined petroleum and distillates from Malaysia and other large refining countries, which is where our petrol prices are set - In a world market.

As for producing oil for 2-3 bucks a barrel;
Sadly, you're mistaken. Oil exploration is one of the largest determining factors here and setting up an oil platform off shore does not come cheap. Oil exploration costs billions of dollars annually, and finding new fields is not easy. Additionally, any decent geologist will tell you that not all crude is easily accessible and thus costs alot to obtain. Also, how is it old off shore fields are full of crude again particularly when they have been pumped full with seawater as part of the extraction process?

And by the way, it was not Howard who set up parity pricing of crude oil, this was done several years ago by initially Gough Whitlam and legislated by Malcolm (where's my pants) Fraser.

Cruizin EB, this post displays a flagrant disregard for the concepts which drive the pteroleum market. Even if we were 99.9% self sufficent, we would still need to pay global rates for this energy.

Look, i can sit here and talk about how its not profiteering and its not Howard's fault until im blue in the face. But no one will listen. You must first understand the concepts of the international energy market before you accept such facts.

This is aside from the factual error of our self sufficiency level. Try 70% and falling.

You would also be aware that our oil production has been in decline since the 80s? Oh that's right - peak oil "doesnt work"....

The time has come for people to stop putting this disgusting misinformation out in attempt to score political cheap shots.

Suprisingly enought, parity pricing actually does not exist. Look it up.

The Hakwe government revoked parity pricing for oil in 1988. The price is now deregulated.

But...

We effectively operate on defacto parity pricing. We do not 'set' the price of oil/petroleum products - the price is set by the market. But we must pay the 'going rate' or else suppliers simply wont sell it to us.

nomatter what they say to justify the prices we dont need to be in Opec
and our government does need to cap their amount of tax, as they are profiteering at our expence by using a percentage calculation.

Yep, theres a lot of figures in that first post, but are they fact? Where are you getting this from?

A lot of it sounds like the old line 24.783% of all percentage quotes are made up on the spot.

Forgive my ignorance: Buuuut, is Diesel not a by-product of producing petrol? If so then why is it more expensive per litre than petrol?

Also: the petrol prices in Malaysia and other pacific asian nations are so low because the government subsidises it. My olds live in K.L. and I knot that is the case with other poor nations. If the price was as high as it is here then no one would be able to afford it.

Perhaps more interestingly though the price of petrol goes up and up while the media's primary focus is Iraq and the oil field YET when there is a terror threat and the camera lenses come home strangely the petrol price comes down, despite the fact that the climate in the middle east remains the same or deteriorates... If you ask me and no one did, the media have a lot to answer for, coupled with greedy oil companies.

ALSO if you look at the shell website, they publish their profit figures. HOw do they justify one day 2 cents p/l and the net 6 cents p/l which in terms of percentage is a 200% INCREASE from the beginging of the week to the end?!??!?!!?!?!

That would be because there is an exrta 18c tax on top of the normal fuel prices. The government give a rebate to industries that use diesel. This was done to shut the greenies up because it was feared that everyone would start moving to diesel cars.

Here's a hint. Just because someone put it on the web, doesnt mean its true.

Oil IS a fossil fuel, and it WILL run out.

I think everyone seems to have forgotten about the multiple taxes their are on fuel, so obviously the higher the price the bigger the return. I mean didn't the Fed. Gov. just record a $19 billion dollar surplus just now. With no new road works, which is by the way where most of this is supposed to go, of course the government can look like its doing great by the voting public, lol which with the speculation now of tax cuts after this surplus doesnt make me wonder if their isnt an election coming up soon. It would certainly be a great platform for Costello ' the man that gave you an extra $5 in your pay packet only to take $50 at the bowser '
