Default RIP Buford

While I was coming home to Adelaide from Heathcote, i got a call from my wife. My Rottie cross Mastiff, Buford, who had been suffering some mystery illness and after treatment from the vet seemed to be recovering, suddenly stopped responding to the drugs. He became non-responsive on the way to the vets but was still breathing, we had to have him put down. He was only 3 years old.

RIP Mate. Dad misses you.

“Actually it was just call “Gull”, because I named it that. Because we knew it was going to poo on everything”.

Really sorry to hear that news, Dave. I have a lot of dogs and they are all part of the family as yours also was. You have lost a valuable and loved family member.

Warmest Regards
Gaela

RIP Buford

Sorry to hear about it mate, I know exactly what you're going through. My mate of 14 years was put down a couple of weeks ago. He looked like a gorgeous dog.

I'm not looking forward to the day we have to let my grandfather's dog go. I still remember the moment mum told me our German Shephard had died when I was about 8. Damn it hurts.

At least it was quick, and he's no longer in any pain/discomfort.

thanks everyone for your condolences.

No the vet has some hunches but the blood results never brought back anything 100% conclusive. We were leaning towards addisons disease due to sodium and potassium levels in his bloods and his physical symptoms, but he only responded to the cortizone for a day, and then just slipped away.

Pets can be the most amazing friends.. they love unconditionally, are always there for you, always seem happy, i went through this with my Dog Sparky 10 years ago, broke my heart, now with 2 cats i know i'll have to confront it all again one day, loosing a pet is just like loosing a family member, life doesn't seem fair sometimes.
