Default earth amplifier to gas tank?

My yellow EA has a gas tank in the boot and it’s in the perfect position for the earth wire to be attached from my amp / sub which are in my boot. Just wondering what is the best way to do this and will it pass roadworthy because its still in my fathers name (he is getting deported over seas).

Seriously, just make a new earth, away from gas tank and lines.

While you are at it, drill a hole in the tank and run the power wire through there.

Earth the amp to the sub, problem solved.

And earth the sub to the amp.

Deported? Did he break Ms Vandstone's heart or something?

earthing your amp to your fuel tank is asking for trouble. Look around where the spare tire is there shud be a hole where u can bolt an o-crimp on to.

The question is, why is it asking for trouble? Remembering the whole car is an earth, and the tank is probably bolted down to the car somewhere.

In the case that the tank became loose and could intermittantly or poorly contact the body and spark or get warm through resistance.

use the bumper mount bolts, there easy to get to, just lift the carpet.

Has it got a towbar? Earth it through one of its bolts that are in the boot.

Would I need an engerneers certificate to do this? Also would it be safer to go down to the You-Yangs and hoon around there untill my gas tank is empty of all gas before I start any happy-hacking? Also what wires do you recommend running while there's a hole in the tank, I was geusing bypassing my fuse box of all lumes/circuts and runing a direct line.
