Re: Samsung Galaxy SIII
I've been an iPhone user for about 5 years now, and am a little out of touch. Is this SIII the flagship Samsung handset? What is the Nexus then? And how about HTC? Am I right in saying the One X is the HTC Flagship in Australia?
The last Samsung I had (SGH-i450 music phone) was a disaster and I ran the third one over in the car accidentally after Optus wouldn't give me a different phone, so I'm dubious about Samsung quality as the s1 and s2's to me look And feel like the same plasticky light c rap the i450 was (the D900 slide was the best Samsung phone ever :D ). Is the s3 a solid well built phone? As I am looking for a change from iPhone now, and want to know these things. |
Re: Samsung Galaxy SIII
To me HTC have better build feel - they feel quality. Samsung hand sets are very light and that can mean the feel cheap too. Quality is generally good though.
Galaxy SIII is the flagship model, as is the OneXL for HTC. The Nexus is technically the 3rd(?) version of the official Google phone, and there's no Samsung stuff on it just pure Android. The Nexus range of phones were previously built by HTC and they're always the first hand sets to have the latest Android on them. |
Re: Samsung Galaxy SIII
Has anyone got a blue one on pre-order? Ordered my last friday and apparently was meant to get a confirmation email about it all but nothing? Have found a thread in the optus forums with alot of the same problem with an optus rep on there checking up on orders and doing the emails so I'm waiting to hear back from that. Any updates on the expected June 15 delivery date?

Re: Samsung Galaxy SIII
After take my sg3 off charge @ 4am this morning and arriving back home @ 6pm it still had 80% battery. It'd facebooked, ebayed, sms'd, emailed and had also used bluetooth. Can't go wrong IMO.
My mates was @ 67% after being off charge @ 6am. |
Re: Samsung Galaxy SIII
I've noticed a lot of excessive data usage from Facebook app...it says its used about 800mb since the 31st of last month which seems very, very excessive.
Anyone experiencing similar problems? |

Re: Samsung Galaxy SIII
Just had a look at my Telstra account rather than the data usage on the phone and it seemed much more accurate. Telstra account lists around 300-400mb usage total rather than 1.9gb.

Here's a phone drop test which raised my eyebrows. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K7e9ebi41Wc Even after watching that, I'm seriously thinking about getting one this week :) |
Re: Samsung Galaxy SIII
Yeah I saw that one. Very surprising. Doesn't really conduct a fair test though, the variable of the phone's spin while dropping isn't exactly controlled. The Galaxy seemed to land completely flat on it's face where as the iPhone didn't seem to connect as evenly.
That girl isn't bad to look at either :3 |
Re: Samsung Galaxy SIII
" So their was reason for people to want refunds on their iPad's because their is a difference in speed when quoted in Australia."
So unlike Apple to blatantly lie to their prospective customers NOT . Will NEVER own another Apple product after my experiences with my first IPhone . Besides my SGII absolutely craps all over my work provided Iphone 4S anyway . As soon as it's out of contract will definitely upgrade to SGIII |

Re: Samsung Galaxy SIII
Loving my blue S3. After getting a message saying my order is delayed I told them to shove it and just rang around a few stores till I found a blue one.
One thing that annoys me though is the mobile data has to be turned on to send picture messages unless Im missing something? I use wifi the most so the mobile data is usually off, so annoying. Anyway to make it work different? |
Re: Samsung Galaxy SIII
All I want to know is , can it plug into my fg series 1. ? And is the music and video as good or better then the iphone 4 which I have now?

You will miss out on the IPOD integration there though .... can use the Aux input though ... but it's not like using an ipod/iphone via the 30-pin cable. But I have another ipod for that anyway. |

Re: Samsung Galaxy SIII
I just use set playlists on my ipod.
I haven't tried my SGSII in that regard ... if it is via the 3.5mm jack ... it all has to be controlled on the phone ... not via ICC. FG II though ... you can stream music via bluetooth in that case. |

Great phone , not so great battery life. |
Re: Samsung Galaxy SIII
Had the phone for six months now with no case or screen protector and it is still near perfect. I've been very careful with it mind you. Anyway, I decided to buy a case and went with this one:

Re: Samsung Galaxy SIII
http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Black-Fli...item5d38230047 <--my $2.50 flip cover is awesome and also protects the screen in two ways. First way is the phone sort of slides into the case so it can't fall out if dropped and the second way is the flip. I've seen ones with a short clip for the flip avoid them as it comes open when dropped. The larger bigger clip which runs one inch down the case won't come open as easy or maybe even at all.
