BLKPHN's new toy FG XR8
So here is my new toy,
I was getting very bored driving around a stock EA s-pack wagon, a very immaculate wagon but after having many fun cars it was doing my head in. getting close to winter boating season was well and truly over. So i started looking for another toy, I was looking at SSV sportswagons, Typhoon again, FG GT's and after talking to Theo at bluepower and him saying that the FG GT's can't really be supercharged without building a motor straight away changed my decision on the GT so I started looking at XR8's. I found this one on Carsales had all the goodies so i called up the ford dealer in bendigo where it was and asked them all about it, as you know i keep my cars immaculate to i didn't want to drive up there and find that it was crap, he assured me it was very clean with no scratches or marks on it at all. So next day i was driving home from Bendigo in my new toy though on the way to pick it up i went past Bluepower to get one of there Airbox's also. Spec's 2009 FG XR8 in Nitro. 290 Boss motor. TR6060 manual. Leather, Premium sound, Optioned 19's (Pirrelli P-Zero Nero's), Reverse Sensors. So the plans are simple, KB, Difillipo, brembo's 400+ atw :D Pics. http://i129.photobucket.com/albums/p...l/IMG_4058.jpg http://i129.photobucket.com/albums/p...l/IMG_4069.jpg http://i129.photobucket.com/albums/p...l/IMG_4048.jpg http://i129.photobucket.com/albums/p...l/IMG_4047.jpg http://i129.photobucket.com/albums/p...l/IMG_4045.jpg http://i129.photobucket.com/albums/p...l/IMG_4043.jpg http://i129.photobucket.com/albums/p...l/IMG_4040.jpg http://i129.photobucket.com/albums/p...l/IMG_4063.jpg http://i129.photobucket.com/albums/p...l/IMG_4065.jpg http://i129.photobucket.com/albums/p...l/IMG_4075.jpg http://i129.photobucket.com/albums/p...l/IMG_4066.jpg http://i129.photobucket.com/albums/p...l/IMG_4062.jpg http://i129.photobucket.com/albums/p...l/IMG_4077.jpg http://i129.photobucket.com/albums/p...l/IMG_4059.jpg |

Re: BLKPHN's new toy FG XR8
Awesome car for a KB Blown Project, out of interest any reason why you are going with a KB 5.4L over say a Miami GS/GT?
Personally i like the route you are taking alot more. |

Cheers man, I used to own a BA XR8 a few years ago and always loved the sound of the 5.4, the Miami is nice but a GS is just a XR8 really anyway. I have driven a 355 GT for the day and it was good but wasn't that excited over it. Cost is another thing a Miami is going to be a good 12k more on the base car plus parts, exhaust, intake, intercooler and blower snout. A 5.4 will produce more torque than a Miami of the same power, the only real down fall is the weight which can be overcome with a alloy block That was my thoughts anyways, haha |
Re: BLKPHN's new toy FG XR8

Re: BLKPHN's new toy FG XR8
So the XR8 has spent a holiday with the boys at Bluepower getting a few parts fitted in preparation for a KB hopefully to to far away.
Once again the service and customer care provided by these guys is outstanding. During its holiday at Bluepower it received, 1 7/8" S/S Extractors Difillipo Twin 3" S/S cats and exhaust to some nice twin 3" chrome tips Difillipo Mellings Billet Oil pump Malwood option3+ Clutch Xcal3 Custom Tune Power wise it made 226rwkw baseline with the Air box already on it, then with all the above it made 270rwkw and damn does it sound good!!! and while i was in a spending mood I bought some 20'' GT 335 wheels so at a later date I can fit Brembo's cause the stock 19's will not fit brembo's. Its very weird as I'm never one to go for wheels but it was more necessity to fit over big brakes than anything. Im in two minds weather to sell the 19's with the pirrelli's or not. Crap Instagram photo just cause. Hopefully get some decent pics tonight of the exhaust as it will be up in the air for a service. http://i129.photobucket.com/albums/p...psbe70e79b.jpg |

Re: BLKPHN's new toy FG XR8
Yeh i know exactly what ya mean. Could have gone silver argents but they are pretty common and not exactly that different to the last set. Always good to be abit different but retain that factory look. I went the charcoal mk2 F6 wheels on my blueprint BA for that exact reason and i love em.
cheers mate |
Re: BLKPHN's new toy FG XR8
Nice. Thought you'd get more than 270kw with bolt ons? Impressive gain none the less. Nice job.
