Sat Nav Into Ba - Thanks Fadi!

A big thanks to Fadi at ASL for his wonderful service and brilliant SATNAV product supplied to suit my BA Super Pursuit. Had to wait almost a month on the latest software program to suit it, and definitely worth the wait! Tried it down south yesterday and it worked a treat! 3D images and easy to use remote control, all at a great price! Can thoroughly recommend this product! (and you will have no excuses for getting lost anymore.) Cheers, Colin

I recently got my new Terri Ghia (2010) and got the ASL sat nav, now ive only had the thing a few months and a new version is out..and it is going to cost me $245...I feel jipped, different story if it was 1 or 2 years old but it is not!

Id really like to update it but no way im paying that considering it is a matter of months old!

Ok I need to clarify this. If you have the Pre-June 2010 Navigation system and wish to upgrade the $245 is for a complete new Operating System, new remote and complete new mapping, as part of this purchase we market this with 2 years of free map upgrades (we do not sell map upgrades) if you purchased your ASL only a few months ago you would be entitled to this. Please see the link below.

http://www.aslautomedia.com.au/ASL%2...0PROCEDURE.pdf

Only Navigation purchased Pre-June 2010 does not come with map upgrades and this is due to us changing to a different operating system and a package that allows us to offer 2 years free upgrades where as this was not an option before this date. If you have the Pre-June we can offer you a discount on the $245 as a Forums member.

Cheers

nope it is not the new version but my Terri is a mid 2010 so its annoying having to pay they money, might stick with my tomtom, got free upgrades on that and the maps are up to date....damn shame tho, we pay alot of coin for something then have to fork out more just to update it..hardly fair!

MexicanBatman 14-11-2010 10:02 PM

Yeah I'm spewing they release a new car every year. And don't get me started on new computers always coming out.

Dude technology is always changing. Buy everything keeping in mind by the time you own it it's already obsolete.

jaskel 14-11-2010 10:29 PM

ha yeah I understand thatbut when my product is obsolete within 4 weeks and I have to pay 245 just to get it back to "current spec" thats what get me! I dont mind a small fee but $245 is a joke considering I recently paid well over a thousand for it!

wazzab4 14-11-2010 10:43 PM

Don't buy Pioneer its $399 for the map upgrades and then the software upgrades.
$245 seam's ok to me.
My 2cents worth.

Warren BDL Car Stereo.

Your product is not obsolete, we just changed the Operating System to a new supplier and we have not asked you to pay anything, you can upgrade your maps via the horizon mapping website if you wish.

Also the fee $245 includes a new remote, new operating system and 2 years of free map upgrades. We would love to offer this at a much cheaper price but people are not aware that OEM integrated system mapping is very expensive compared to Portable Navigations Mapping. Mapping companies have different levels of mapping and OEM integrated Navigation Maps are very expensive.

By the way I have already advised you in a earlier post that as a Ford Forums member we can offer you a discount.

Cheers

does your system power off Navigation when starting your vehicle, if so, it is the old system which i can tell you is a biggest pain in the **** if for any reason you need to turn the vehicle off whilst you are in navigating mode. :eek2 :eek2

Yes you get a new license.

The top list of features will give you the best idea.

But from experience the new remote is much easier to navigate and responsive, the screen and navigating is much smoother, the menu looks much more proffessional and the whole system overall is much more stable.
Although system will still power off Navigation when starting your vehicle, as this is a hardware change only available with the current system.

Cheers

Upgrading the software to the new OS will not rectify this as it is a hardware change, but if you ask nicely and send us your module and harness back we might be able to sort out the delay circuit for you!
