Just wondering if anyone has the Ambiante model of the 2014 Focus and the headlights on high beam are a bit underpowered. Has anyone changed the bulbs and what are you using....
Any help will be appreciated. robert. |

I know its not a Focus, but I found my Mondeo lights the same. Especially after coming from a BA Falcon that had the 2 high beam lights each side. I tried a few bulbs but settled on Narva. Just cant for the life of me remember if it was the plus 100 or plus 120s.
My advice to you though if the set up is like mine, eg the low beam bulb stays on when you flick the high beam bulb is to also invest in a plus 100/120 low beam bulb too. I found this was the best way. As it gave good fill infront of the car as well. I tried phillips and a few others and found the narva best however it comes down to personal preference i think a little bit. Oh and i hated the results from things like the Artic Blue etc. Must have gone through more then a dozen globes over the years till I found the combination I liked.. Hope that helps

Do you not need to be careful of the amperage load on the wiring as I notice its quite thin in the factory loom and you are doubling the draw of amps with those size globes.

I have used these types of globes in various cars for as long as I can remember with no problems so I would say that I dont think there is any issues. But then again Im not a auto sparky

For info as it is also posted elsewhere. Www.powerbulbs.com is pretty good value and look for the mid performance bulbs

Don't look at HID conversion kit. That is bad advice, you will end up with a fine using them. google RACQ headlights.

On highbeam HID is fine, its only on lowbeam you will run into issues with the fuzz.
I didnt think the high beams on the Focus was too bad, then again i have mine adjusted pretty much spot on. Before changing bulbs etc, adjust them first. |

doesn't draw more current because plus 100 means it is brighter not that it is a higher wattage -usually same wattage ........
be mindful of lenses and more importantly of voiding warranty if you alter to much......... check adjustment and plus 100 should improve vision ........ |

We don't get hassled for HID's here in SA, but I can't for the life of me find a solution due to the bulb holders. I've dropped in some Narva Intense H7 and H1's and phillip's extreme crystal vision in the H11 fog lamps. better than it was but still nothing like the HID's on my VE.
