Well for super cuteness here's a more current one from this year with my grand daughter:

Note that as she is an offspring on one of my two adopted sons. I can take no credit for her good looks.

Yes and the short fat sausage fingers like King Charles. Perhaps it's our distant Tudor links; like Twiggy Forrest a distant cousin, I can trace my ancestors back through Helen Forest my great, great, great grandmother to the Earl of Orkney, Robert Stewart the Illegitimate son of James V. The Stewart earls were based at Kirkwall Castle Orkney, which had been built by Henry I Sinclair. It was demolished in 1614 with the forfeiture of the title (they picked the wrong side in the civil war) so even if I kill off all the thousands of relatives with a prior claim (which I gather is actually proper form in these sort of families), I sadly cannot claim the tile or the castle seat and become Prince Ross. It's psoriatic arthritis and getting worse with age. One of my favourite You Tube mechanics, Eric O has the same issue https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCtA...liY7ko1PBhzTHA and like me also has the vertically splitting fingernails.

This is me at Sandown back in November 2018. I had just done three laps in a 4-cylinder Jaguar F-Type, the first time on a racetrack................in the wet no less, my instructor Tony D'Alberto. So, I was pumped with adrenalin.......................

For the following run, I was put in the supercharged V6 F-Type. With the extra power and the wet roads, I lost some confidence.

For some reason, I regained my confidence after stepping up to the big-d.ck F-Tyre R with its 550hp supercharged V8, no doubt the AWD system and extra weight gave it a more planted feel. A fellow attendee took a short clip of me hurtling down the main straight...............

This is the most powerful car I have driven. For anyone who has experienced a Miami powered Falcon, you will know that relentless surge of power and speed that is the hallmark of supercharged V8. Well, the F-Type R is the same, but with an extra 50hp and without the torque limiting that goes on with the non-intercooled Miami. Throw in the 8-speed auto and the accompanying heavy metal V8 soundtrack, the experience was only bettered being in the passenger seat with Tony at the wheel................wow, did that paint a picture of how slow I was.................. and how fast he is!

And before Francophile CB get miffed this was on my mother's mother's side/ On My mother's father side I am descended from Augustus Alexandre Rampant, Chief Architect in what was then Saigon in French Cochin China (Vietnam) a colleague of Eiffel and in his own right a famous French scientist and inventor (even holding various Australian engineering patents). My grandparents were always willing to tell me about that but never mentioned that his wife, Mathilde Mathilde (Gautier) family were not only owners of slave powered plantations in Rodrigues Island Mauritius, but also vile and cruel slave traders. The wider Gautier family had slave plantations in other parts of Mauritius and Madagascar and also in the Caribbean. A big skeleton in the family tree and cause of some considerable shame for me and his other OZ decedents . And Augustus Rampant certainly knew all about what was going on. He was married in Mauritius and after Mathilde Mathilde's father died he took unsuccessful court action disputing the settlement of the estate trying to get the plantations and the slaves as property into his and his wife's name. The Gautiers and another French family appeared to run Rodrigues Island as their own private slave kingdom. Even after the island fell under British control and slavery should have been immediately ceased, they managed to corrupt the UK Governor of the time and maintain slavery on their Island plantations for nearly a further decade.

I could start on my father side of the family with my Grandfather's history of multiple bigamy and 101 illegitimate kids but we would need a new forum to have enough space.

His name was Hafey, mum and dad got him when they lived in Cairns and before I came on the scene in late 1986. Even as a toddler, I can vividly remember that we were best friends, inseparable. He was also ball and water crazy.

I remember the day mum and dad had to put Hafey to sleep, my sister and I were left at our grandparents. When mum came to pick us up, she was crying, which was the first time I had seen my mother's strong emotional connection with dogs. Whenever she sees a dog in distress, its immediate tears.............and I'm the same.

As a toddler, I couldn't pronounce his name. Instead of Hafey, I'd call him Faychie. After about 20-years without a Cocker, when I picked up my current best friend, I was having trouble giving him a name. He was so much like Hafey, that when someone suggested Faych.......... it sort of just clicked and couldn't have been more perfect. And of course, I call him Faychie more often than not.

Technically, this is a picture of me taken by someone else, but Faychie is by far the cuter of the two in the photo.

Thanks for sharing.

The cocker spaniels that I've met are always loving dogs who just want to be loved back.
Your dog looks ace. Glad you have a new best friend

Agree - although most dogs are so loving and loyal

Actually - a lot are better than a lot of humans

They are amazingly loyal, not to mention quite often daggy too, which offers never-ending entertainment. Like howling when the phone rings, or randomly barking at absolutely nothing at all. Last week I went out for a short period, came home and couldn't find him, walked towards the bathroom only for him to appear around the corner with an empty toilet roll in his mouth..................it was so cute. Or the time he grabbed a full 2kg bag of flour out of the pantry and proceeded to eat it on the lounge room rug............my black dog turned white, I just wish I took a photo of it as despite the annoyance, it was so funny.

They can be super clingy though, which is both sweet and occasionally frustrating.

Where's that bag of flour again?

What?

Yes, I'm just as fed up with Christmas as you are......................

Shredder of useless electoral paraphernalia...............

You'll have to speak up, I'm wearing a towel.......................
