How did you end up with a ford? Were you always a ford freak from the word go, or were you driving something else until you drove a ford?

My ford fetish started way back when my father was selling prefects and anglias, etc and use to rally the anglia super(1200cc). My first car was a mk1 cortina then a mk 1 GT, then a lotus. When i came to Australia everyone was driving a holden,or so it seemed, so i bought a an hx sandman v8. The worst 13 months of my life.A tf cortina soon filled that gap until the SVO came along.then the xf s, and the ef xr6.
The most memorable moment was in my my mk1 lotus running past a holden monaro in NZ, on my way to pukekohe for club racing.

Born Blue. Mum wrote off dads Mk 1 when she was preggers with me, rolled it four times into tomato paddock. Dad had a XP Coupe, and replaced the Mk1 with an XY Monte. XP made way for an XB, and then it all went wrong, with dads crazy love affair with Nissan

. Patrol, Pintara x2 Maxima x2. Woke up recently when I got him into a BA XT, and last week said the last Pintara is out and an EB for work hack has been sourced.

Me, first car was a 70 Capri, XCGXL Monte, 69 Galaxie, XF Monte x3, EA, ED Monte, and now AUXR SERIII 6.
In between times, there has been a 300ZX, a Camry, and a few Tojo Utes for work, as required. Next, XR or GT/ FPV sumthink, not sure yet, or when??

I've been into cars since I could read and write. Originally though, I was a luxury car person. Interested in the interiors, saftey, economy etc etc. Then in 2000, when I was 12, my uncle took my for a drive in his 11 sec R33 Skyline GTS25t. Been into fast cars ever since, never looked back. At first I was a bit of a ricer.. I wanted a Honda Prelude converted to AWD with turbo and nitrous that ran 9s and a big rice kit and chameleon paint and such grossness (I shudder at the thought). Then, I became a bit more knowledgeable, and as my father owned two Ford Econovans when I was little, and kept telling me about how Ford was so much better built then Holden, plus every Holden fan I knew at the time was a total f***wit, it kinda went on from there.

Basically, the two cars that drew me to like Ford (Falcons in paticular) were the EB Falcon GT and AUIII TE50.. both in the Feb 2002 issue of Motor (EB was Past Blast, AUIII TE50 beat the VXII R8 in a review in the same issue).

Born Blue. Never owned or considered owning anything else but a Ford.
From when I was born till when I got my first car the family always had Fords. There was simply no other choice for me.

Strangely enough, my older brother has Holdens now... but then again, he works for a union and is into fishing... talk about opposites.

Parents always had Holdens, but my first car was a beaut blue 64 Cortina! A purler of a car and only paid $500, wish I had kept in now...

Mostly we've had Fords, 1 Chev along the line when Gambit was little, and now have 3 Fords in our yard, plus still have the hj monaro, that's not going anywhere.

Folks have had Fords pretty much all my life. Were a few years when we had a Landcruiser in between the XF and the NC Ghia.

Funny though, we've never had any older Fords, they have always been recent models. So I have no idea why I love the old school more than the new stuff.

The first car race that I saw was the 1977 Bathurst. Was well and truly amazed at the result. My Father had always driven Fords and then shortly after he bought a ZH Fairlane, have been hooked ever since.

Following the '77 race, I was very keen to see the next and then there was the Cobra's, absolutley love'em. Up til now now I have owned 33 Fords, mostly Fairlanes and LTD's, all ZH's and P6's of course.

yep, pretty much the same as all te rest, born blue, dad had an XB GT mock up which i learned to drive in when i was 11...hmm 351 + toploader + 9" + 11 year old driver in paddock = serious fun!!!!!.

all through growing up they've had fords, the EAGL wagon, , EL futura wagon now AU mont wagon.

the same as most - my old man had fords, my first car was a 1968 fairmont, most of my mates had fords etc.
i've had a few commodores as well, when ford didn't make what i wanted, but i've always ended up back in a ford.

ive been heavily into cars since day 1. Dad was always playing with his old Falcons and mum had her 105e Anglia. so the blue oval was always highly regarded in my family.
ive always wanted a ford, one of my earliest memories is looking through the Sunroof of my dads XB and thinking how cool it was and also pretending to race in an old XY shell in the back yard!

XD first car. It caught fire in a car park before I got to it. Then *shudder* I ended up with a Camira and from there it was Fords starting with my first v8 in an XC. My mates were all Holden fans so I had to have something different and haven't looked back since.

Well, My grandfather was a mechanic (he also owned a dealership), So cars have always been part of my family, however my grandfather loved cars from France, so my family has always owned a wide array of Peugeots, Renaults, Citroens, Simca's, even the odd Matra etc etc...However, during the late 80's/early 90's, my parents decided to buy a XF after thier Renault 16 decided to die. I guess this must have been where it started, they owned an ED Futura after that, and have since gone back to European cars (Saab 900s)...I think that fact that my dad ALWAYS gave the XF so much praise is the reason, however one day I will own a 205gti (I learnt to drive in a 505 and a 205si, most fun car I have ever driven.)

I first got into Ford's when i got a Glenn Seton hero poster in his EB Falcon. At That stage my parents still had the XE Ghia. I didn't really take much interest until about year 9 where everyone wanted a Clubsport

so that basically got me back into fords in the AU era. plus my parents upgraded to the NL Fairlane Ghia.

Edit: Plus My dad was always raving on about Mustangs hehe

My earliest memories are sitting down every Bathurst with my old man and watching it all day long. Remember Moffit doing the one/two in the big white GT's and deciding" that's the car for me". Well I never managed to get an old school one thanks to a sheer lack of funds, but now 28 years later I have a new plastic-fantastic GT. Couldn't be happier. My inner child is out!

Whole family is ford i grew up around them watchin my old man buy and fix and modify heaps for him/his mates/n my broz ... so i got the point lol and havent really cared for the other team...my sister she went holden after meeting her husband he turned her but what does she know anyway ! LOL

Parents grew up with parents who had fords, XK's etc.. parents owned a couple of XA's-XB's (only ever 6's) then a couple of XE's, now an EA and an EF... so i was born into it, i love my NC and i will probbaly only ever buy ford, unless something esle decent came up. That and most holden people i know are dickheads.

Scary but I was originall a Holden man. Wasnt into car specs or models at all, but if someone asked me red or blue, the answer would have been red.

Then Dad went shopping for the new car, and almost bought an EL Futura. Went with a lexcen instead

:, after that was the AUII Fairmont and it has always been Ford for us ever since. My first 2 cars (Futura and Focus) are Fords, and the next one will be too.

Always been a Ford fan, but a few cars that really cemented the relationship were our XB 351 GS, a customers 1969 428 Mustang, and a friends XD 351 Ghia.
All 3 hold significant memories for me, and they're associated with full throttle in 2nd gear!!

Parents only ever bought one Holden and she was sold within 3 days.

My Uncle is a big Ford man, has ford V8 ashtrays and placemats and so on throughout the house, and a Hot Rod, so I already liked 'em a bit. Then I got asked to pick sides, red or blue by M11734896DAMaclaren and someone else, and chose blue.

I started as a Holden man but when I blew up the 202 in my torana on my L's my old man wouldn't let me put a 308 in it and told me to buy a small car.

Then I bought a rotary and I was a rotor head until I started hanging round with some Datsun freaks. The're real easy to work on and I was a real 4 cylinder nut for years.

When I was looking for a tow car for rallying I decided on an EF Wagon, until a few of my mates harrased me non stop for a week to get an XR8. First day I went looking I found one, full kit, sixteens, manual, and I had to have it. I fell in love with it, lost intrest in spending all my money rallying, and I now have three Ford V8's.

Mad Max did it for me

Uncle has had an XT falcon ute since new (68), Mum has owned an XB 500 wagon (302 v8) and XC GS rally pack wagon (302 v8) and I have managed to find, restore and enjoy an XA falcon fairmont coupe (351 cleve)

Now have my second galaxy blue AU and my favourite falcons are XM coupe, XT-XY sedans, XA-XC coupes, sedans and wagons and EF-BA XR's

I didn't care one way or the other until I was given an abandoned XD as a project for my first car. But it required far too much work to be ready in time for me to get my licence. Then we thought that after doing all that work to it, I'd be REALLY annoyed if I smashed it.
Dad bought me an identical XD Ghia, which was registered, and just needed a good clean up.
When I people started giving me a hard time about being a girl into cars, and owning a Ford, then I started to become more interested in Fords in general.
Had that for 5 years, until I bought the BA in January. Don't want to sell the Ghia!!
Currently my Dad is driving the XD Ghia, the original XD project is still in a million pieces, but much closer to being finished than it was when I first got it.
There wasn't really any loyalty to one particular brand in my family.
Grandfather had a mix of fords and holdens when he was a taxi driver. Currently has an EL, to replace the EF he wrote off a few months ago.
Dad has the first FJ holden he ever owned. He had a ford courier, currently has a mazda ute for work.
Mum drove a 1968 Merc, until it got smashed, but the guy never paid up so it's fixed, but awaiting respray. she's had an ancient Toyota Corona, and currently drives an XF.

Grandfather was a Ford nut. Still has the '71 Fairlane 500 he has owned since new sitting in the garage. When I was little, he used to work on it while I watched, and thats what started my passion for the blue oval. Dad had a couple of falcon panel vans for work (telstra), and our family car was an EA Fairmont for a long time, but then the folks split up and opwning falcons was no longer an economically viable option for the old woman.

At the moment I own two old Landrovers, but am trying to buy an early bird.

My parents have always had fords, from escorts, cortinas right up until the ba falcon. We used to have a vn commodore but it sucked, so we got an ef and haven't had problems with fords before (cept the ba). I just love em

My family were Holden nuts basically because the old man always had one and worked at a GM dealership. My first Ford leanings came in 74 when I saw Moffats Brut33 Falcon as a impressionable 7yo. At that stage it was the best looking car ever to compete at Bathurst. I continued with the family tradition of GM following, until the day my brother arrived home after trading his Monaro in for one of those new XD Falcons. He then gave me a XT Falcon which we paddock bashed for a while. My first car when I got my licence was a Torana which eventually was traded for a XA GT RPO coupe. I was sold on all things blue from that day on, even though I've owned a few Holdens since.

Well my parents said they were gonna buy me a car and at first i wanted a VL commy. Then my dad was goin to buy me a VT commy and mum said no. I got the following restrictions. Must be 4cyl, 2.5l max, and must be EFI, $4000 max. So i wanted a TX3 turbo. Then a new restriction-NO TURBO or S/C. So looked at NA TX3s and then one day while look in the paper my mum spotted a TX5.

We went to look at it and thought it look rather good. It was not huge, was reasonably powerful for that sort of car and wasnt expensive. Anyways looked at a few and got the one that i have now. I have no need for a large car so never got one.

Would i say im a Ford nut-Well no not really. Im into the small fords esp cossies (and that new focus looks AWESOME!!!!). Ive never been a falcon person myself but am impressed with the BA. If there ever was a falcon to turn me it would be the BA.
