Ford to Give Special Preview of BF Falcon at Bathurst

Five days ahead of its official unveiling at the International Motor Show in Sydney, Ford will give spectators and television viewers of the Bathurst Super Cheap Auto 1000 a special preview of the all-new BF Falcon.

Ford Racing legend Dick Johnson will drive two laps of the Mount Panorama circuit from 9.10am on race morning (9 October) in a Ford Falcon BF XR8.

The Ford Falcon BF XR8 will only be at the track for these two laps, before heading straight off for preparations at the International Motor Show.

"The opportunity to give not just the fans at the track, but the massive television audience the chance to get a special preview of the Ford Falcon BF was too good to pass up," said Ford President Tom Gorman.

"Traditionally car makers have waited until the International Motor Show to unveil their cars to the public. We are not taking anything away from that event; this will be very much a special preview before the Motor Show.

"For people wanting to get a good look at the BF Falcon they'll get the very best opportunity at the International Motor Show from Friday 14 October.

"Having Dick drive the car is clearly the right choice, especially as this year marks the 25th anniversary since the famous 'rock' incident at Bathurst.

"Bathurst is very important to us all at Ford and it would be great to start and finish the day at Bathurst on the right note!"

During the two laps of Mount Panorama Tom Gorman will be interviewed by Network Ten as part of the sneak preview of the BF Falcon.
